Begin at Gasthaus Breitlahner and start climbing toward Friesenberghaus. You'll gain about 1,350 meters over roughly 6 km, so pace yourself and take breaks as needed. By the time you reach the mountain hut at 2,477 meters, the views from up there really pay off for all that elevation gain.

From there, you'll walk through green meadows toward Olpererhütte, then the trail gets steep again as you drop down and follow the Riepenbach stream.
