Itinerary
- Day 1
Windhoek to Kalahari Desert
You'll arrive in Windhoek and connect with your guide at the airport or your accommodation. After you've sorted through your travel documents and gotten your bearings, the route heads toward the Kalahari Desert. By evening you'll watch the sun dip below the desert horizon, and then sit down with your guide over dinner to go over what's coming up on the trip.

Kalahari to Fish River Canyon
This day takes you through Quiver Tree Forest where the trees have these really distinctive shapes that have been there for ages. Later in the afternoon you arrive at Fish River Canyon, one of the largest canyons on the planet. From the edge you'll look out over this massive landscape with the Fish River cutting through the rocky terrain far below. As evening arrives, the light turns the canyon golden and the whole thing becomes even more dramatic.

- Day 3
Fish River Canyon to Lüderitz
You head out toward the outskirts of the Namib Desert near Aus where you'll see the Wild Horses, those mysterious horses that have lived in the desert for more than a hundred years. From there you move on to Lüderitz, a coastal town that feels like it's been frozen in time with German colonial buildings scattered throughout the landscape. You'll walk around and check out the colorful historic structures that show the town's past.

Lüderitz to Kolmanskop
Kolmanskop Ghost Town is where you'll spend time exploring an old diamond mining settlement that the Namib Desert has taken over. Sand fills the houses and old ballrooms where you can still see furniture half-buried under the dunes. A guide walks you through the area and explains what it was like during the diamond rush and why people ended up leaving. Later you drive along Route D707 which takes you through desert scenery that keeps changing as you go.

- Day 5
Sossusvlei and Sesriem Canyon
Today focuses on the Namib Desert's most iconic spots. You'll visit Dune 45 and then explore the towering red dunes at Sossusvlei, which reach over 375 meters into the air above an ancient riverbed. Walking through Deadvlei you'll see dead camel thorn trees standing against the fiery red sand in a striking way. Then you check out Sesriem Canyon with its old geological formations that tell a long story.

- Day 6
Swakopmund
The drive takes you to Swakopmund, a coastal town where the Namib Desert meets the Atlantic Ocean. You can walk around and look at the German colonial architecture and historic buildings from the town's past. Stop by the Tropic of Capricorn and head through Kuiseb Pass. If you're into adventure activities, quad biking through the desert dunes nearby is an option. Otherwise spend time on the sandy beaches, look through local craft markets, or just soak in the view where desert dunes reach the ocean.

- Day 7
Swakopmund to Windhoek
Start the morning with a boat cruise along the Swakopmund coast. Then you drive back to Windhoek, pulling in during the evening to wrap up your Namibian trip.
