Spice Farm & Village Cooking Experience
Start the day at a local spice farm where you'll handle, taste, and learn about different spices and fruits that go into Swahili cooking, traditional medicine, and beauty products. You'll snack on fresh seasonal fruits while getting the full tour. From there, take a short drive to a nearby village and walk around to see how people actually live day to day. You'll meet a local woman who works with cassava and she'll show you how it's grown, then let you try your hand at farming. After that, head to her home for an outdoor cooking lesson where you'll crack open fresh coconuts to make coconut milk and prepare a vegetarian sauce using local vegetables. The day wraps up with lunch featuring what you just made.
