Itinerary
- Day 1
Luxor
Your hotel picks you up early for the drive to the West Bank, where you'll spend the morning exploring the Valley of the Kings. You'll visit three selected tombs, getting a sense of how ancient Egyptian royalty was buried and the artwork preserved inside. From there, it's on to Medinat Habu temple, which gives you a different perspective on temple construction and decoration than what you'll see later. The Colossi of Memnon are a quick stop on the way, and these massive statues are worth seeing in person to understand their scale. After grabbing lunch at a local restaurant, you'll cross to the East Bank in the afternoon. The day winds down with Karnak Temple first, then a walk along the Avenue of Sphinxes before finishing at Luxor Temple just before heading back to your hotel.
