  1. Day 1

    Buenos Aires

    You'll touch down in Buenos Aires where your APT Tour Director meets you right at the airport. From there, it's a transfer to the Alvear Palace Hotel in Recoleta, one of the city's most upscale neighborhoods. Check in, get settled, and you'll have time to meet the other travelers on your trip before dinner.

  2. Day 2

    Buenos Aires

    A guided city tour takes you through Buenos Aires' main attractions. You'll walk through Recoleta Cemetery with its ornate mausoleums, then head to La Boca where colorful colonial buildings line the streets and tango culture still thrives. Later, swing through Palermo to see the trendy cafes and neighborhoods that have become the city's creative hub. By evening, return to the hotel for a ship briefing that covers what to expect on your Antarctic cruise ahead.

  3. Day 3

    Buenos Aires to Ushuaia to Antarctic Peninsula

    Early morning brings your private charter flight to Ushuaia at the southern tip of South America. Once there, you'll do a guided tour of Tierra del Fuego National Park where guanacos roam freely across the landscape. After a light lunch, board the Seabourn Venture expedition ship. Meet your Expedition Leader and naturalist guides, then settle in for a captain's welcome dinner while the ship moves through the Beagle Channel with its dramatic mountain scenery.

    Drake Passage Crossing

    The ship crosses the Drake Passage, the body of water that separates South America from Antarctica. It's known for rough conditions, but the crossing is part of the adventure. Throughout the day, your Expedition Team holds presentations about Antarctic wildlife, the region's history, and its geology. These sessions prepare you for what you'll encounter over the next several days.

  5. Day 6

    Antarctic Peninsula (Flexible Itinerary)

    Now you're in Antarctic waters with flexible daily plans that change based on ice, weather, and where animals are congregating. Zodiac boats take you close to penguin rookeries and seal colonies while you scan for orca, humpback whales, and minke whales. You'll visit Deception Island, an active volcano with ruins from an old whaling station. Time permitting, stop at Port Lockroy, a working scientific base, where you can pick up a postcard with an authentic Antarctic stamp.

    Drake Passage Crossing

    The ship turns north and crosses the Drake Passage again heading back toward South America. Spend time on deck watching for whales and other marine life. There's plenty of downtime on the ship too, so relax in your cabin or use the ship's facilities while the naturalists continue spotting wildlife and sharing insights.

  7. Day 13

    Ushuaia to Buenos Aires

    Disembark in Ushuaia and board your private charter flight back to Buenos Aires. The flight gives you time to reflect on the Antarctic experience and chat with fellow travelers. Once you land in Buenos Aires, transfer back to the Alvear Palace Hotel and settle in for your final night in South America.

    Buenos Aires

    You'll choose from several activity options to explore Buenos Aires on your own terms. This evening, dress up for a special farewell dinner featuring an authentic tango show with live music and dancing, plus a full meal to celebrate the end of your trip.

    • For any tour departing before April 17th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after April 17th, 2026, a minimum payment of $750 is required to confirm your booking with APT. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 120 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
