- Day 1
Tangier to Chefchaouen
You'll start in Tangier and head south toward Chefchaouen, the blue city. First stop is Tetouan where you can walk through the white-washed streets before continuing on. The drive takes you through the Rif Mountains, so you'll get some nice views of the landscape. Once you arrive in Chefchaouen, you'll have time to settle into your accommodation and take a walk around town to get your bearings.

- Day 2
Chefchaouen to Fes
Early in the day you'll leave Chefchaouen and drive back through the Rif Mountains toward Volubilis, where you can see Roman ruins from the 3rd century BC. From there it's on to Moulay Idriss, an important pilgrimage site, then to Meknes where the main sights include Bab Mansour gate, Qara prison, L'hdim square, and Sehrij E'ssouani. By evening you'll arrive in Fes and check into your accommodation in the old city.

- Day 3
Fes
You'll spend the day with a local guide exploring Fes's Old Medina, which covers quite a bit of ground. There are handicrafts to see, the famous tanneries, Al-Quaraouine University, various Madrasas, and the crowded narrow markets. The tour can be adjusted based on what interests you most. Later you'll head back to your traditional Riad in the old city and have time to rest before evening.

- Day 4
Fes to Merzouga Desert
Your pickup from the Riad happens early so you can start the long drive toward Merzouga Desert. You'll stop in Ifrane, sometimes called the Switzerland of Morocco, then visit the Azrou cedar forest where you might see Barbary apes. Lunch is in Midelt, which is known for apples. After that you drive through the Atlas Mountains and Ziz Valley, pass through Erfoud, and eventually reach the Erg Chebbi dunes. You'll settle in at the desert hotel and go on a camel ride into the dunes where there's traditional music and a fire to gather around.

- Day 5
Merzouga Desert
You'll leave your desert camp and spend time exploring Merzouga and learning about nomadic life in the region. There's a drive through the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, and you'll visit a nomad's tent for tea and talk about how they live. Later you can check out the coal mines in Mefis village and head to Khamlia village for a live Gnaoua music show and traditional lunch. Before heading back to the hotel, you'll see a lake in the middle of the desert with desert birds and flamingos. Optional sports and activities can be arranged if you're interested.

- Day 6
Merzouga to Dades Valley
You'll head out early to climb the tallest nearby dune for sunrise, then shower and have breakfast before leaving camp. The route takes you to Rissani, a former gold and slave trading post, where you can walk through the crowded souks and local markets. Next is Tinghir, an old caravan trading place, then the Todgha Gorges with limestone canyons reaching about 300 meters high. The drive continues through the road of thousands of Kasbahs until you reach Dades Valley, known for figs and beautiful scenery. You'll stay overnight in the Dades Gorges surrounded by green fields with fig and walnut trees.

- Day 7
Dades Valley to Marrakech
After breakfast you'll head toward Marrakech through the Imgoun valley, also called the valley of roses, and the Skoura Oases. You'll stop to see the Amridil Kasbah from the 17th century, one of Morocco's most authentic Kasbahs. Continuing on you'll reach Ouarzazate, the Cinema capital of Morocco. From there you can visit Touaririrt Kasbah and Ait-Benhaddou, a UNESCO-protected red mudbrick village with buildings from the 11th century caravan era. The final drive to Marrakech takes you across the High Atlas Mountains, passing through the Tizi N'tichka pass at 2260m/7,415 feet with dramatic mountain scenery. You'll arrive in Marrakech and check into your accommodation in the old city.
