  The 30th day trip, should I have to follow according to the itinerary or I can choose to stay extra days in certain places that are good for me to take a break then to continue to the next destination.

    This tour can it be shorter, because I am not favour to revisit the same destination via the trip together with 5 countries from Rio De Janeiro to La Paz. For hotel stays, would be good to have private room in the hostel or similar.

    Please do provide the flight instead by bus to take 18-20 hours road trip. Tentatively the travel ideal date is around in March 2026. Its the weather is good for the trip.

  Please can you give me more information about the buses for the long distance travel and also the facilities of the shared room hostal option.

    Buses keep the price in a budget. Some rides are long, but the buses are very comfortable. Rides range from 2 to 21 hours across different routes. If you chose Shared Dorm option, rooms are shared between 4 or 6 people, with a bed and locker. Bathrooms can be inside or outside the room.

    For the bus, I wanted to know if the bus has a toilet, snack service and stops regularly. For the accommodation, I am happy to share with one stranger but not really 4 or more. Could I share a dorm double?

    Buses have a toilet and some offer snacks. Either take a Single room option, or Shared Dorm option with up to 4 or 6 people. Sometimes it can be only 2 or 3 people depending on hostel occupancy.

    I assume I get a locker where I can lock up and keep my luggage. What size of luggage do you think is best? As I understand it you will give me an itinerary of dates, times and places and reserved bus tickets, hostel reservation vouchers and tour and activity vouchers and it is my responsibility to follow the itinerary?

    We give you an itinerary to follow with dates and places, vouchers, bus tickets. You have to be at bus station or accommodation at agreed time. We have 24x7 contact number. Hostels attract young travelers who might be loud. If you prefer not to share, you can pay a bit more for a single room.

    Can you advise about luggage if I am staying in a hostel and travelling on buses? Is there a restriction on baggage size? Can you reserve me window seats? If I want to visit Easter Island, can you factor in a short trip there and how much would it cost?

    Normal sized luggage can be stored at hostels in lockers. Buses accept all kinds of luggage. We can reserve window seats when we open the system. We could cut the trip in Santiago for you to go to Easter Island 3 nights, with a package including transfers, accommodation and tours. You would need to add flights.

    As I understand it then for a side trip to Easter Island I would break the trip on Day 19 and instead of going to Valparaiso I would go to Easter Island and when I returned I would head for Valparaiso. Is that correct? Once I have decided the dates, would you also be able to get the air tickets for me?

    It looks like I would be crossing borders when doing the bus journeys. How does that work please? Is it difficult? Does the bus wait?

    Border crossings involve: 1) Brazil-Argentina by transfer, 2) Argentina-Uruguay-Argentina with day tour, 3) Argentina-Chile by bus with passport and baggage check, 4) Chile-Bolivia by 4WD cars with passport control. Keep the exit paper from Chile when you enter.

    We can make a stop in Santiago for you to visit Easter Island. We have a 3 nights / 4 days package to Hanga Roa with airport transfers and day trips. Most buses are 'cama' service or 'leito', with seats reclining between 140 and 160 degrees.

    There is a sector of this trip that crossed from San Pedro de Atacama to Uyuni quere you will reach high altitudes (4800 meters above sea level). I'd say this can be a rough part of the trip for your mom. Maybe she is fit and altitude wont affect her but the services are basic and the country is unpredictable. In your place I would avoid high places and Bolivia. Also, the tour has a lot of buses, on one side, they are confortable and relaxing, but on the other side some can be up to 20 hours. You may need to do a tailor made trip that combines Brazi, Chile and Argentina, the longer bus sectors maybe flying to make it faster (if you want) and finishing in San Pedro but not crossing to Bolivia. Please let me know if that makes sense. Also, if you were thinking of going to high places with your mom, I would 1st talk to her doctor about altitude.

    Rafting in Mendoza has alternative Hight Mountain Sightseeing Tour or Horseback riding. In Buenos Aires, Bike tour or City tour (Sightseeing). In Santiago, only bike tour, but very calm and easy to do.

    Yes, overnights buses are safe and what people take to move from city to city. But if there is a sector you would like to fly, we can cut it, you add your flight (or we can help you with it) and we discount the bus part

    These trips are not group tours, they are made for independent travelers. That means you will be on your own (or with your friends or family if more book together) from destination to destination, but you will be with other people in the hostels and on board of the local tours.

    Park entrance fee depend on daily exchange rates but approximately they are the following: Iguazu Brazilian side: 24 usd, Iguazu Argentina side: 26 usd, Geisers del Tatio site: 14 USD, Avaroa National Park in Bolivia: 6 USD. Please bear in mind that these are approximate as they can change or the exchange rate can go up or down.

    This is independent and self guided, it is NOT a group tour. While in the different destinations, the city tours and other activities will be guided and in groups, but will not be people that are going to be with you until the end of the trip. In this kind of trips you go on your own from destination to destination using the public buses we book and provide, and on the bus there are other people traveling with you that you won't know.
