Itinerary
- Day 1
Frankfurt to Bangkok
Your Thailand adventure kicks off with a scheduled flight departing Frankfurt for Bangkok. You'll touch down the next day and be ready to start exploring.
- Day 2
Bangkok
After arriving at Bangkok airport, you'll be transferred to your hotel. The rest of your day is free to get settled and oriented. Later in the evening, you'll meet up with the group for a briefing that covers what's ahead for the trip.
- Day 3
Bangkok to Kanchanaburi
Today you drive to Kanchanaburi, which takes about 2 to 3 hours covering roughly 150 km. You'll see the Bridge on the River Kwai and ride the historic Death Railway across it, then visit the Hellfire Pass Museum to learn about the prisoners of war who constructed it. In the afternoon, a longtail boat takes you to your floating bamboo resort on the river where you'll stay the night.

- Day 4
Kanchanaburi
Around 10 am you head out to Erawan National Park, about 1 to 2 hours away and 70 km from your resort. The hike takes you through lush vegetation to the multi-level waterfalls, and you'll have time to swim in the natural pools and enjoy the landscape before heading back in the late afternoon.

- Day 5
Kanchanaburi to Sukhothai
Starting around 7:30 am, you begin a long drive to Sukhothai, which covers roughly 5 to 6 hours and 300 km through rice cultivation plains. You'll pass through Don Chedi where a local temple houses thousands of fruit bats. Depending on the season, there may be stops at various fields and plantations. You'll arrive at your hotel near Old Sukhothai in the afternoon.

Sukhothai
You cycle through the UNESCO World Heritage Site Sukhothai Historical Park on easy trails, exploring the 13th-century first capital of Siam. The park contains around 200 well-preserved temples and chedis, and you'll visit Wat Mahathat, Wat Sri Chum, Wat Sri Sawai, Wat Sra Sri, Wat Trapang Ngoen, and check out the Ramkamhaeng Museum.

Sukhothai to Mae Sot
You leave Sukhothai and drive toward Mae Sot, a trip of about 3 to 4 hours covering 160 km. Along the way, you stop at Taksin Maharat National Park for a longer, challenging hike through jungle with stream crossings. There you'll see one of Thailand's largest living trees, standing 50 meters tall with a 16-meter circumference. Later you reach Mae Sot on the Thai-Burmese border, where you visit the border market on the Moei River and tour Wat Thai Watharam temple.

Mae Sot to Umphang
You'll board an open vehicle around 8:30 am for the drive to a Karen mountain village homestay near the Myanmar border. Once there, spend time walking around to see how daily life works in the village, and you'll take part in a weaving course at the loom. After that, help your host family prepare dinner, then settle into simple accommodation for the night with jungle sounds all around.

Umphang
Have a simple breakfast around 7:30 am, then head out on a five-hour jungle hike to look for wild elephants in their natural habitat. Your guide points out plants and animal tracks while explaining how the ecosystem works. You'll break for a packed lunch in the forest, and afterward return to the village in the afternoon with time to rest before dinner. Another night at the homestay follows.

- Day 10
Umphang
Around 8:30 am you'll board a raft or rubber dinghy for a relaxed float down the Mae Klong River past dense vegetation, stopping at hot springs and the Rainbow Waterfall. By midday, continue to Tee Lor Su, Thailand's largest waterfall, where you'll swim and have a picnic lunch. Later in the afternoon, move to a tent camp, eat freshly prepared dinner, and spend the evening around the campfire.

Umphang to Lampang
After breakfast, pack down the tents and drive back to Mae Sot by pickup truck around 8 am, arriving by lunchtime at a small restaurant. From there, head toward Lampang by minivan with a stop at Bhumipol Dam. You'll reach your resort near Lampang in the late afternoon and check in for the night.

Lampang
You drive to Wat Chaloem Phra Kiat, sometimes called Little Bhutan, a temple built dramatically on pointed rock formations with spectacular views. A 30-minute hike up 500 steps brings you to the mountain top where the atmosphere is quite mystical and you may encounter local monks. From there you return to Lampang for a city tour of the old town, visiting Wat Koh Walugaram and Wat Phra Keio Doi Tao temples, and stopping by the night market.

Lampang to Si Lanna National Park
Visit a beautiful Lanna temple, then drive about two hours to Sri Lanna National Park where you'll check into the Tree House Resort. In the afternoon, take a one-hour hike to two small caves in the jungle, then drive to Buathong waterfall for swimming and climbing on bright limestone rocks. Spend the night in a bungalow or tree house by the stream.

Si Lanna National Park to Chiang Mai
A short drive takes you to Chiang Mai, where you'll check into your hotel and get settled. In the afternoon, head out on a three-hour bike tour through rural areas past rice fields and fruit plantations, including stops at the historical excavation sites of Wiang Kum Kam. You'll return to your hotel by evening.

- Day 15
Chiang Mai
A short drive takes you to Monthatarn waterfall, your starting point. After a 40-minute climb, you'll reach Sai Joy waterfall for a break, then continue another two hours uphill to Wat Doi Suthep mountain temple at 1073 meters elevation. There you can explore the golden pagoda and Buddha relic while taking in panoramic views over Chiang Mai before heading back to your hotel in the afternoon.

- Day 16
Chiang Mai to Frankfurt
Your day in Chiang Mai is free and unscheduled until departure. Later you'll be transferred to Chiang Mai airport, about 20 minutes away and 10 km from the city, for your flight home through Bangkok. If you'd like, there's an option to extend your trip with a beach stay in southern Thailand instead.
