Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kayakoy

You'll arrive in Kayakoy, a quiet farming area close to Fethiye. If you're coming from Dalaman Airport, the drive takes about an hour and there's an optional transfer available. Once you get there, you can either head to the deserted Greek village of Kayakoy to explore if you arrive early, or just settle in at the hotel. The tour leader meets everyone at 7 pm for a briefing, and dinner is available at your accommodation.

    Start point
Dalaman Havalimanı (DLM), Dalaman, Dalaman, Muğla 48770, Türkiye (Dalaman airport, 11:00 - 18:00)

    Optional Activities

    • Explore the deserted Greek village of Kayakoy
    Landmarks

  2. Day 2

    Ovacik to Faralya

After breakfast, there's a short optional walk around Kayakoy if you want to stretch your legs. Then the real hiking starts from Ovacik village, where you'll climb through pine forests up the shoulders of Baba Dagi with views opening up over Oludeniz beach. You'll descend to Faralya village, which sits above Butterfly Valley. This walk covers about 13 km over roughly 5 hours with 600m of elevation gain, so it's a solid day but not extreme.

  3. Day 3

    Faralya to Gey

This day starts with a gentle uphill section through pine forests that transition into farmland with terraced fields. From there you'll head down toward Kabak beach, then move along higher slopes and follow an ancient path into a blind valley before climbing back up through pines to Alinca village. In the afternoon, the trail stays high above the coastal bays as it makes its way to Gey village. Expect around 21 km total with about 7 hours of walking time and 850m of ascent.

    Gey to Patara

Starting from Gey, you'll keep to high elevation as you head toward Bel, then move through plains and pine forests before descending to Sidyma, an ancient city where Roman and Byzantine tombs are still standing. After exploring, there's about a 30-minute transfer to Patara village where you'll spend the next two nights. The walk itself is around 12 km and takes about 5 hours.

By the time you reach the southern end of Patara Beach, you'll have the chance to swim and explore the extensive ruins there. Patara was the birthplace of Saint Nicholas, so there's real history to see. The walk covers about 10 km in roughly 3 hours and 30 minutes.

From there, a vehicle takes you down to Kas, one of the nicest ports along the Turkish Riviera with its dramatic limestone cliffs and laid-back vibe. The hiking portion is about 15 km and takes around 5 hours and 30 minutes.

There's a medieval castle in Simena with the smallest ancient theatre in Lycia. Later, a boat takes you to see Kekova, the sunken city, and lunch is a BBQ on board where you can spot submerged streets, mosaics, and amphorae underwater. You'll return to Kas for the evening. We liked how easy going the itinerary was as we were on a different tour prior to this and it was just nonstop go go go. That said, there was a lot of down time to rest & recover so I think 3 nights vs 4 would’ve sufficed. Nonetheless our experience was good. The customer service was super responsive and reliable. Our driver made us feel safe and comfortable given the roads were narrow and slippery from the rain. Our tour guide was very warm and welcoming and took her time to show us around. The accommodation was superb. The host made us wonderful breakfast and the view was to die for. I would recommend anyone planning to visit Rize/Trabzon to book with this tour.
