I've done the Italian tour many years ago, but I would like to go to Cinque Terra. I notice this tour is for under 35s. I'm much older than that! When I was in Morocco last year, the tour that travelled at the same time was an Intrepid and the age of the group was much older than 35. Do you have a similar tour that would suit a fit and healthy 68 year old?

While the Cinque Terre Under 35s tour is designed specifically for younger travellers, we do have other Italy itineraries that are open to all ages and would be well suited for a fit and active traveller. These include similar experiences covering Cinque Terre and surrounding regions, without any age restriction.

Is this tour really only for people under age 35?? We are in our late 60s & fit enough to travel, hike, explore etc. This itinerary from Venice to Rome is just what we want to do (with the included northern areas, as well as La Spezia/Cinque Terra) after ending our 12 day cruise from Rome to Ravenna. The timing is perfect as we debark the ship in Ravenna on Sept. 11, allowing us to make our way to Venice to begin the tour on Sept. 12th. We're NOT interested in just a Venice/Florence/Rome tour. Do you offer this for age groups over 35? If not, can you refer us to a company that can accommodate us on the same tour?

Our Venice to Split adventure in October 2023 was not horrible. While touted as a premium tour, some aspects of the trip were anything but premium. The good: Our tour guide, Dinko, was excellent. As a local who knew the territory, he gave us an insider-look at the region, including superb dining spots a visitor could never find alone. Dinko earns an A+. The small tour size (12 people) also was good. We had a friendly group of Americans and Australians who really bonded. The bad: The accommodations on this supposed premium trip were generally sub-par. Virtually every hotel had problems for at least a couple people in our group -- e.g., AC that didn't work; dirty linens; no linens; limited hotel amenities; constant excuse-making by the hotels. Even when the hotels were superficially attractive, our group seemed to be assigned the smallest/worst rooms. Single travelers drew the absolute bottom of the barrel. The trip also felt a bit hurried, with too many one-night stops. I would have liked more time in Slovenia. The Venice "day," which only consists of a dinner, was a complete waste. To even get there on time, we had no choice but to fly in a day early. But, as we learned in the small print, the tour promise of free transportation from the airport doesn't apply if you forced to arrive early. So, in summary, I would use an airline analogy to describe this trip -- upscale Business-class during the day; crowded, sometimes uncomfortable Coach-class at night. PS -- If you booked your trip through AAA Club Adventures, please know that AAA is not the tour sponsor; it is just an American re-seller of tour packages organized by an Australian company called Intrepid. AAA merely slaps its name on the brochures.Show more
