Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Dades
Your day starts with an 8:00 AM pickup heading southeast into the High Atlas Mountains. The drive takes you over the Tichka pass at 2,260m/7,415 feet where you'll see snow-capped peaks from every direction. After crossing through, the road winds down into Tamdakht valley and eventually reaches Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site with ancient pre-Saharan architecture built into the hillside. From there it's on to Ouarzazate, known as the 'Hollywood of Africa' because so many films get shot in the area. The final stretch follows the Thousand Kasbah route through the Roses valley, ending in Dades for the night where you'll have time to settle in and explore the small town.

- Day 2
Dades to Merzouga
After breakfast, the drive heads toward Merzouga through Dades Valley and Todra. You'll pass through palm groves and dramatic gorges with mountain walls that climb up 300m/984 feet on either side. Once in Merzouga, local Berbers will greet you with mint tea before heading out on camels to watch the sunset over the sand dunes. Later that evening, dinner and entertainment happen at a luxury desert camp with local drum music around a campfire. If you're interested in stargazing, there's time for that too under the clear desert sky.

- Day 3
Merzouga to Marrakech
Wake up early to catch the sunrise, then have breakfast before getting back on camels toward Merzouga village. On the way, you'll pass through Rissani, a historically important town that served as the former commercial hub and birthplace of Morocco's current ruling dynasty. The route then cuts through the Draa valley, Morocco's largest valley, and crosses the Anti-Atlas mountains before arriving back in Ouarzazate. From there, the drive returns to Marrakech, giving you time to reflect on the journey through the desert and mountains.
