Arrival
Your small group discovery tour kicks off today. This is your arrival day, so you'll settle into your hotel and get oriented. It's a good time to rest up before the real exploring begins tomorrow.

Bogotá
Start your day in Bogotá, Colombia's capital sitting at 2,640m altitude. Head to the Paloquemao food and flower market early to sample local tastings and traditional snacks, then take the cable car up Monserrate Hill for views across the city below. You'll spend time at the Gold Museum checking out over 34,000 gold pieces, after which it's time to walk through La Candelaria's colonial streets and cobblestone squares near Plaza Bolívar. Wrap up with dinner at a local restaurant.

Bogotá to Coffee Triangle (Pereira/Armenia)
You'll fly to Pereira and travel to the small town of Calarc in the Coffee Triangle region, the world's third-largest coffee producer. A jeep takes you to a coffee hacienda where local experts walk you through the whole process from seed to roasting and tasting. Lunch features traditional regional dishes with the hacienda owners. Later, head to your hotel in Armenia where the evening is free for rest or exploring on your own.

Coffee Triangle (Cocora Valley, Salento, Filandia)
Drive through Quindío to Cocora Valley where you'll see the Palma de Cera, Colombia's national tree and the world's tallest palm reaching up to 60m. Walk the ecological trail spotting rare parrots, then participate in planting a tree with the local community. From there, head to Salento, the region's oldest village, to browse colorful shops and grab lunch at a local spot. In the afternoon, explore Filandia's quaint streets known for handicrafts and unique gastronomy with views of the surrounding landscape.

Known as the 'City of Everlasting Spring' for its mild year-round climate around 72°F/22°C, the afternoon is yours to use however you'd like. Check out shops, galleries, museums, or the city's vibrant street art scene if you want. Later that evening, you'll have dinner at a local restaurant.

Medellín
Explore Medellín's history and culture starting at Pueblito Paisa atop Nutibara Hill, a charming village with cobblestone streets and a church offering 360-degree city views. You'll then see the voluptuous sculptures at Botero Square by artist Fernando Botero and browse the Antioquia Museum. After that, take the cable car to San Javier and ride electric stairways through Comuna 13, the graffiti-filled district where a local social leader explains how this once-struggling area transformed into a cultural center through street art and community reform.

Fly to Cartagena on the Caribbean coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with well-preserved colonial architecture. Begin with a guided tour of the Monastery of La Popa from the early 1600s, sitting on a hillside with panoramic views. Then visit San Felipe Fort, built to defend against pirates and foreign attacks. Wander the walled colonial city's colorful streets and plazas in Old Cartagena. End the day touring San Pedro Claver Convent, which displays Pre-Columbian artifacts, religious art, ceramics, and Afro-Caribbean paintings and masks.
