Arrival
You'll arrive in the city and get transferred to your hotel. After settling in, you have time to rest and get comfortable after traveling.

- Day 2
Mexico City
This morning, you'll walk around the historic old town near the Zócalo and check out the cathedral along with the Ministry of Education to see its frescoes. Later, a boat tour takes you through Xochimilco's floating gardens. In the afternoon, head to the Anthropological Museum.

Mexico City to Puebla
You'll drive to the Basilica de Guadalupe, which is Latin America's most important pilgrimage site. From there, it's on to Teotihuacán to see the continent's largest uncovered ruins. After that, you continue on to Puebla.

Puebla
Start your day with a three-hour hike in La Malinche National Park. After that, you'll walk through Puebla, known as the colonial pearl, and explore its many churches and colonial buildings.

Pueblos Mancomunados - Mitla
You'll make a short stop at Santa María del Tule first. Then comes a 2.5-hour hike through the mountain villages of Pueblos Mancomunados at altitudes up to 3,200 meters/10,500 feet. In the afternoon, you visit the archaeological site of Mitla.

You'll do an easy but scenic three-hour hike to the villages of Chamula and Zinacantán. Along the way, you'll see the landscape of the Sierra Madre with its exotic plants and animals. By afternoon, you're back in San Cristóbal with the rest of the day free.

Early in the morning, you head out to see the Yaxchilán ruins located deep in the subtropical rainforest of Chiapas. After exploring, you return to Palenque with a stop at the Roberto Barrios waterfalls.

You travel from Palenque to Chicannà and take a guided tour of the Mayan ruins there.

Calakmul
In the morning, you visit the Becán ruins. Later, you head to Calakmul, a Mayan site in a bioreserve on the Guatemala border. A guided tour lets you explore the jungle-covered ruins and spot wildlife. You'll return to Chicannà by evening.

Campeche

Cenote Yokdzonot - Valladolid
You'll drive to Chichén Itzá in the morning and see this ancient place of worship where about 30 buried jungle-covered structures have been uncovered and restored. Next, you visit and swim in Cenote Yokdzonot, a cave filled with fresh water. Then it's back to Valladolid.

Tulum - Playa del Carmen
After leaving Valladolid, you head toward the Caribbean coast. You'll visit Tulum, a Mayan site sitting right on the turquoise Caribbean Sea. Later, you continue to Playa del Carmen with an option for an extra day of swimming.
