  The 5 day tour that I enjoyed certainly exceeded my expectations. I had hoped to join a group tour, and was apprehensive when I discovered that I was own with a driver, but Kasun Nilanga was everything a driver/guide should be and made my tour a wonderful experience. The highlights were certainly Sigiriya, the Dambulla caves and the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy. I would have chosen to miss the village experience, a pressured tourist trap, and preferred to visit another ancient site. The train journey to Ella was an experience not to be missed and an opportunity to see the glorious hill country. As I had already been on safari in a national park, I chose to miss Yala on the last day, which Kasun agreed to, getting me to the airport in plenty of time for my flight. I cannot heap enough praise on Kasun, who looked after me ( a 79 year old) superbly. I feel strongly that the contrast between my top grade accommodation and his shared digs was embarrassing and would prefer my fees to have been more fairly distributed. I had not expected such high grade accommodation, nor my driver to stay in such basic digs. Overall, a great trip. Thank you.Show more

  We had an amazing trip with Apple Vacations, made even more memorable by our driver, Dhanesh. He was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly accommodating—going above and beyond by dropping us off at our next hotel even after the tour officially ended. His local insights and recommendations truly enhanced our experience. The itinerary was well planned and covered some fantastic cultural highlights, including the Dambulla Cave Temple, Sigiriya village tour, and Bluefield Tea Factory. While the overall itinerary was excellent, the hotels arranged were a bit hit or miss. Mount Randholee stood out as a favorite, while a few others were less comfortable. Some scheduled stops, such as the Spice Garden and Isini Gems, felt overly sales-driven and high-pressure. Most meals were provided as hotel buffets, which were convenient, though the quality varied depending on the location. Overall, this was a wonderful way to explore Sri Lanka. Despite a few areas for improvement in hotel selection and certain tour stops, the strong itinerary and Dhanesh’s exceptional service made it a truly memorable experience.   We were only 2 participants. Not very logical program. I cannot understand how it is possible to do what was programmed for the day 5 in one day.But since we were only 2 people and Kitty the driver was very kind knowledgeable and responsible we could do the necessary adaptations. We skip the Little Adam's Peak and Yala Nat. Park (we did Mineria Elephant Park which was not included orriginally on the second day). Instead did a nice walking tour in Galle Dutch Fort along the very long drive from Ella to Colombo and even a short Colombo city tour at the end. These both should be included. The Alta Vista hotel in Ella looked to us very bad, so we changed to a better one ands got a small refund.   We joined this tour 22-26 November 2025. It was a good experience. The accomodations were excellent. Places and activities from Day 1 to day 3 were exhausting but exciting, especially the climb to Sigiriya rock. The driver assigned to us from Nuwara Eliya to Ella was not familiar with the tourist destinations, he kept on asking from the locals which way to take. We wasted time on the 4th day, waited for 3 hrs in the train station to Ella, missed lunch. The driver did not even offer to take us to a nearby resto. The 5th day was hectic: climbed Adams peak, to the 9 arch bridge then joined the safari. I rate safari 2.5/5 as there were very few animals. It was more of bumpy ride. Over-all, it was worth the money.Show more

  The tour was very nice overall but we did not enjoy the 3rd day. Gregory Lake was filtlhy and the train ride wasn't great since it was hours late (which is almost always the case) and there was a loud rude group on our train which made it hard to relax and enjoy the experience.Show more

  Good tour, takes you to lots of interesting places in Sri Lanka. I would've like to be in a van or bus with other tourists so there were others to talk to. That happened on the first day, but the remaining four days were only me and a driver, different driver each day. On the trip to Yala national park, the driver asked me for 42,000 rupees for entry, hire of jeep, and driver. I don't know if that was the correct price. I asked for a receipt but was not given one. Still, I enjoyed the 5 days.Show more

  Overall, my tour of Sri Lanka was a wonderful. There was beautiful scenery, amazing history, and a knowledgeable driver/guide. However, a few details did not match the itinerary provided. I was expecting a 2nd class train ticket but received a 3rd class ticket on the slow train, which made the 5+ hour journey to Ella very crowded and uncomfortable. In addition, we did not stop at Hanuman Hindu Temple, which had been listed as part of the tour. While I still enjoyed much of the trip (particularly Sigirya Rock and Dambulla Cave Temple), I would suggest confirming ticket classes and all planned stops in advance to ensure traveler expectations are met.Show more
