  The tour operator’s staff was very attentive to our needs. They responded quickly with positive results usually within a minute or two. The general aspect of the tour is that you are on your own when not in a timed group tour event. Travel tickets and vouchers as well as transfers to and from accommodation is prearranged well communicated. The Hotels were all well chosen, while not top notch were well above average. Transfers were, for the most part, on time and enjoyable. If it were not for the weather spoiling some aspects, I would give this tour a 5 star rating. As it turned out some attractions had to be changed. For example, the Douro river was rain swollen to the point where the river cruises were cancelled due to safety and a mountain road to a palace was blocked due to a retaining wall collapse under pressure from the rain. The substitute attractions were well chosen as the best alternative. In one way we were able to see things that were out of the norm. Wanderful cannot be held responsible for the weather. I would choose them again if only for their quick responses to crisis and caring attitude of the staff.Show more

  I will never travel without them I will never travel without them and here's why. We decided to visit Portugal and the Azores in February, there were record floods and very inclement weather. This company took the best care of us. They heard all of our concerns and helped us every step of the way. As tours were canceled the train was canceled and any hiccups we had with transfers. (Booked outside on another app.) The team and their affiliates checked in on us every step of the way insured. We were well taken care of and they went out of their way to help us when we got in a bind. The consistent communication and concern for our happiness with services and our experiences was unmatched by any other app or company we have ever used we've ever used. They have solid affiliates among transport and private tours, all of which were amazing and made our trip, albeit wet with some cancellations, a trip of a lifetime. We cannot be more thankful to the entire team for all of their care concern and hard work to make sure that our trip was as seamless as possible despite the weather.   When we booked this tour we assumed that we would be part of a group of people travelling together around Portugal...
  When we booked this tour we assumed that we would be part of a group of people travelling together around Portugal led by one guide. Instead, we were travelling by ourselves and receiving guidance via email and text messages. This was radically different to what we have experienced in the past. All of the accomodation was advertised as being 4 star. The final hotel in the Azores was in a terrible state. Upon arrival, workers were undertaking repairs in the rooms beside our room. We would rate it as a 2 star. No coffee or tea making equipment was provided. When we asked for such equipment they said that they could provide us with a kettle but we would have to obtain our own coffee, tea and sugar ,etc. We were notified at 11pm of the second night that the hotel would be evacuated due to a serious electrical problem. The location of this hotel was also a problem. It was an isolated spot with nothing of real interest nearby. Overall, the Azores island selected for the tour did not offer much to see or do. We could not wait to get out of there. This part of the tour should be replaced by another location. We arrived at the AZores airport at 4.30 am for a 7.05 departure. The flight finally left at 5pm. We missed our next flight and our luggage is still missing. We do not blame the tour operator for this. Our remote tour guide ( via email and What’s App messaging ) went out of her way to solve all the problems that we encountered during the tour. The ground transfer staff throughout Portugal were magnificent. They were polite, efficient and always on time.Show more

The condition of the hotel, the lack of amenities, and the unexpected evacuation due to an electrical fault are all unacceptable, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this caused. We are already reviewing the use of this hotel and will be evaluating alternative accommodations for future travelers. Additionally, your feedback about the limited offerings on the island is noted—We have kept this portion of the tour to relax after super busy itineraries in Lisbon and Porto so the guests go back relaxed before joining back their day to day work and chores back home. Regarding the style of travel, we’d like to clarify that this tour operates as a small-group experience until Porto. After that, guests have the flexibility to extend their journey to different islands or beach resorts. On occasions when a group does not formed, rather than cancel the tour—which could cause major disruption to our guests with their flights booked, holidays scheduled, and other personal commitments—we choose to operate it as a private or semi-private experience. While this does significantly increase the operational cost on our end, we believe it’s the right thing to do to ensure your travel plans are not compromised. With on Tour Support continuing seamlessly 24/7, maintaining a smooth experience throughout. Once again, thank you for your thoughtful and honest review.   Two weeks in Portugal with Tour Radar's assistance and oversight was fantastic! The Lisbon, Porto, and Azores excursion filled my soul with delights, various outings, great food, wonderful company, excellent guides. Arriving earlier and leaving later than my tour was scheduled, Tour Radar was very helpful in making arrangements to accommodate my needs. If and when any issues arose at whatever hour of the day/evening -- which were few (because that's life), they were able to handle those promptly. They did a great job with communication, checking in to make sure I was prepared for the day ahead, as well as touching base to see how each day went. The hotels in which I stayed were really nice. And there was plenty of time -- outside of the daily scheduled activities -- to do whatever I liked, which I appreciated. When future opportunities come my way to travel, I will certainly contact Tour Radar for arrangements.Show more
