Asked on October 19th, 2025What time and exact location in Christchurch do we depart from on the 5th morning? Would it be alright to arrive at 10 am at the airport on the 5th?
ContikiOperator•Written October 2025The tour departs from Christchurch approximately 08:00 AM on the 5th morning (first day of tour), typically from the designated hotel where the group is staying, so arriving at the airport at 10:00 AM would likely mean missing the departure and is not recommended. It's highly recommended to book a pre-night stay in Christchurch, as the tour begins early the next morning and includes a kickstart meeting at 6:00 PM the evening before departure.

Traveler•Written October 2025What is the designated hotel the group will be staying at? Does that mean there will be a room provided for the 4th February night? If so, will it be alright to arrive on the 4th at roughly 11:00 PM?
ContikiOperator•Written October 2025The designated hotel for the group in Christchurch is expected to be Drifter Christchurch at both the beginning and end of the tour. A room for the night of February 4th is not automatically included, but if you plan to arrive around 11:00 PM, that's absolutely fine as long as you book a pre-night hotel accommodation.

Asked on January 10th, 2025Do you allow a person on wheelchair to join
ContikiOperator•Written January 2025We are very excited to hear from you! Of course we do allow travellers with wheelchair. In most cases, you can bring a wheelchair/walker on your trip, provided you are accompanied by someone willing to offer personal assistance. Due to limited space and weight restrictions in the luggage hold, only one wheelchair can be accommodated per trip/tour on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that certain services provided by third parties, such as meals in hotels/restaurants, accessible rooms, and specific room types and locations, are beyond our direct control. While we will make every effort to meet guest/traveler requirements, we cannot guarantee them. Please be advised that Contiki tours have an age restriction, requiring guests to be between 18-35 years old to participate.

Asked on June 24th, 2024Is this safe for solo female travelers? what is the difficulty level for this trekking? from 1 to 5? I'm weighing my options for a nature gateway in November, and this tour looks great.
ContikiOperator•Written June 2024Contiki Holidays is known for being a safe option for travelers of all genders, including solo travelers. The company has a good reputation for creating inclusive and secure travel experiences. Additionally, we can say that the tour level is rated 5, indicating that it requires good fitness due to the extensive walking involved each day. This implies that participants should be prepared for an active and physically demanding itinerary.

However, the kickstart meeting begins at 18:00 the night before the trip, on which pre-accommodation is recommended.
