The trip was overall good, primarily because of outstanding and attentive guides in almost every place we visited, but we rated it as a 3 because the highlights are a bit misleading. When we arrived at the airport we waited and waited, looking for a sign with our names which was what our itinerary highlighted. I emailed the Click office and discovered that we should be looking for someone with a MAPA sign. This is the first time we came to understand that this was a MAPA tour and not a Click tour, that it was subcontracted! The hotels are not superior for the Plus category, they are all 3 star and very moderate. While the bathrooms are more modern and well appointed, the rooms are very tight. For instance, the Hampton Inn in Barcelona is very average with no room service or restaurant. The really superior hotels are in the city center such as the Marriott in Madrid. Therefore, everything fell into a more moderate category, including the food which was very average at best. While the trip highlights such as the trip to the Toledo gold/steel factory, the Madrid city visit, the trip to Alhambra & the Gardens, the Cordoba mosque and the tour of Barcelona were all great, some of the stops along the way were a turnoff. We were disappointed that there was no food for our group at the Flamenco show and we got one watered down drink; it would have been better to charge a bit more so that we could sit at the tables and enjoy some food. We ended up purchasing some snacks. Another example: The stop at a roadside restaurant in route to Barcelona - Airea - was infested with flies. That stop should be eliminated immediately as you could not take one bite without flies all over your food. The prices there were much higher than some of the other stops that were much, much nicer. There were even flies in the ladies room, all over the toilets!! Click should evaluate this tour and decide what would make it truly superior or call it what it was, a tour for the moderate priced tourist with 3-star hotels.
