Asked on June 17th, 2026

When we are touring the Golden Circle on Day 1, is there a stop at the Secret Lagoon? On Day 2 when we are in the South at Seljalandsfoss, will we be walking across the street to Gljufrabui Waterfall also? If these are not already included, and we have extra time, will it be possible for the guide to stop to view these?

TravelerWritten June 2026

Does the bus meet in Reykjavik to begin, and is it at a certain location where we meet the tour bus?

• Troll ExpeditionsOperatorWritten June 2026

The tour does not include the Secret lagoon or e walking across the street to Gljufrabui Waterfall.

• Troll ExpeditionsOperatorWritten June 2026

The tour starts and ends in Reykjavik. If you need to book a hotel in Reykjavik for your first night before the tour starts, we recommend Storm Hotel, Fosshótel Reykjavik, Reykjavik Lights, Hilton Reykjavik Nordica, Grand Hotel Reykjavik, or Oddsson Hotel, as they have a direct pick-up at the entrance. If you choose a hotel in the city center, we will pick you up from the nearest bus stop due to road regulations there, it is usually a very short walk, you can check all the bus stops here: Reykjavik City bus pick-up and drop-off places (busstop.is)

TravelerWritten June 2026

Will the tour bus pick us up from Odinsve Hotel Apartments or Icelandic Apartments by Heimaleiga?

• Troll ExpeditionsOperatorWritten June 2026

We do not have direct pick ups for both hotels you mentioned. However, the nearest pick up location from Odinsve Hotel Apartments is at Bus stop 6 - Culture House. We can pick you up from there.

Jack

TravelerWritten June 2026

Does your company do any single day excursions outside of the longer tours? We are arriving and will have time on Tuesday 21 July and would like to do a guided single day hike near Reykjavik

• Troll ExpeditionsOperatorWritten June 2026

If you are staying at Hotel Óðinsvé and are looking for a guided day hike on July 21, we do offer a self-drive glacier hiking tour at Sólheimajökull Glacier, which is one of the closest glacier hiking locations to Reykjavík. Please note that this tour does not include pick-up and drop-off, so you would need to rent a car and drive to the meeting point. If you prefer a tour with transportation included, we would recommend our South Coast & Glacier Hike tour. This tour includes pick-up and drop-off in Reykjavík and combines visits to the South Coast's beautiful sights with a guided glacier hike experience.

• Troll ExpeditionsOperatorWritten June 2026

We recommend arriving in Iceland the day before the tour starts so you are well rested and ready for the first full day.

Accommodation before the tour is not included, so you would need to arrange your own hotel for the night prior to the start date.

Asked on March 7th, 2026

I'm not very adventurous and am afraid of heights, edges, cliffs, etc. Looking at glacier hikes and ice cave, this looks more difficult. Your description was low intensity. I'm physically fine, but have some anxiety that I'll fall or get hurt. Is there a way to discuss with the guide to ensure guide is aware / how will we address?

Travel Support
• Troll ExpeditionsOperatorWritten March 2026

The activities included in the 6-day tour are designed to be suitable for most travelers with a normal level of fitness, and the glacier hikes are considered easy to moderate. During these activities, you will be accompanied by certified glacier guides, and all necessary safety equipment (such as crampons, helmets, and harnesses when required) will be provided. The guides will also give a full safety briefing and instructions before the activity begins. Once the tour begins, you are very welcome to speak with the guide and let them know about your concerns. They will be happy to explain the activity and ensure you feel comfortable before starting.

What is the price for including the "lunch and dinner" service?

Meals
Price / Availability
• Troll ExpeditionsOperatorWritten May 2025

While on the way, we usually stop at locations like gas stations: there are small shops there where you will be able to buy snacks/sandwiches and drinks. At lunch time we will also stop at locations where you will find warm lunch options. For dinner, all hotels have restaurants, so you can choose if you'd like to have dinner there. In Iceland some sort of vegan or vegetarian options are offered almost everywhere, in case needed.

• Troll ExpeditionsOperatorWritten May 2025

A cost per meal in Iceland ranges from $15 to $40 USD.

Asked on January 26th, 2025

Do you have any tour dates on or around 20th April 2025? How many people are in the small groups? We are wanting to see the Puffins. Is this something that can be done on the tour, or do you have any other suggestions on how we can see them?

Group size
Tour Details
• Troll ExpeditionsOperatorWritten January 2025

Our tours are conducted in mini-buses, typically a 19-seat Benz Sprinter. To ensure a comfortable group experience, we usually have a maximum of 18 to 19 passengers on board. Puffins arrive in Iceland in May and leave in late August. They are usually on cliffs, so when we go for example on the black sand beach clients will be able to see them most likely.

• Troll ExpeditionsOperatorWritten September 2024

Each person is allowed to bring one suitcase up to 24 inches. You can also bring a small backpack on the bus, and it should fit under the seat or in the upper compartment. Extra luggage must be stored in our office; there is a fee you must purchase in advance. For tours that last 4 days or less, it costs 1750isk. For longer trips (5/6/8 Days), it costs 3000isk for the total duration of the trip.

Can you explain the Waterproof Jacket and Pant Rentals are for?

• Troll ExpeditionsOperatorWritten September 2024

Iceland's weather is unpredictable and changes quickly. Renting waterproof clothing is recommended in case of sudden rain to keep you dry. But it is still up to you if you want to rent it or not.

Our travel protection from our award-winning partner, XCover, means you and your travel companions can book with peace of mind knowing there’s protection available in case your trip doesn’t go to plan. At checkout you will be able to select between different options in case you or the tour are eligible for insurance. In case no option is available, you are always able to purchase travel insurance outside of TourRadar.
