I really loved most of this trip! I have to give you the negatives in hopes you will improve for future tours The nighttime tour in Rome was very good but leaving us out on a corner 11:00 at night with no transportation back to the hotel was terrible. We were totally exhausted from traveling and touring for 2 days then to try and get our own transport back was not acceptable to us! The Mercure hotel was nice enough but the food was not edible!We ate there one day next day we went out for a good Italian meal! When you’re in Italy you want Italian food and music not American on either count! The other hotels were better with their dinners although not great by no means. All breakfasts were the same & not good! Our biggest complaint though would be the ferry We really had no idea what to expect which should have been explained in depth prior to the trip.For seniors to maneuver their luggage up a steep cargo ramp with no one to assist was a really big problem! Then to lift it at the top and put it in a narrow hallway then into a small elevator was the icing on the cake. We got to our cabin and we had no shower curtain or toilet paper in our room. The food was disgusting like hospital food. We insisted to our tour guide that we have help with our luggage getting off the ferry and Antonio made sure we did. I have no idea how much it cost per person for the ferry but given the option we definitely would have flown from Naples to Palermo instead! This should have been explained in detail prior to the trip! Those were the negatives other than that we loved everything! The hotels were beautiful and would have loved to be able to spend more time. All of the tour guides were very pleasant and knowledgeable. It would have been nice to have more down time to enjoy the beach or hotel pools for a day but I know we had to keep moving to see it all and we really did! Not an easy trip for all to do . It is exhausting but total worth seeing everything we did! I always dreamed of going to Italy and especially Sicily and it was everything I dreamed of and more! I hope to return someday in the near future and visit other areas of this beautiful country! I hope this review helps for future tours thankyou goes out especially to Michael for all of his help.Show more

The tour guide was fantastic . Franco from Carrani tours was were versed in history and mythology and prepared us for every wonderful town we visited. Our only drawback was that since it was the end of the tour season, we were placed with a Spanish speaking group, as they couldn’t fill an English speaking tour. We luckily had three English speakers who kindly translated for us and included us but we still missed the social aspect of the tour. However, it was a magical experience!!Show more
