I'm interested in doing a tour to Japan in March when it's slightly warmer. I would like to do a tour similar to this with the focus on Kyoto & Osaka. Not Tokyo, Im not keen to visit Tokyo at all. Do you have any specials or upcoming specials on tours where I could join a group and then do my own exploring in Kyoto afterwards. Maybe 2-3 weeks in total. 1 person only for the tour.

Are there any people his age that have booked?

Contiki tours, including Japan in a Week, are designed specifically for travelers aged 18 to 35, so your 19-year-old son would be right in the heart of the target age range. While we can't disclose specific guest details, it's very common for solo travelers in their late teens and early twenties to join these trips.

Can I add one day before the trip and one day after the trip? And can you add transportation from the Airport to the hotel?

Yes, we offer a maximum of 2 nights of extra accommodations before and after the tour. With the airport transfer, regrettably this is not available you have to make your own transfer arrangements.

Can I still book this tour if I have not received a confirmation?

If your booking is still marked as 'on request', it indicates that confirmation has yet to be finalized.

What accommodations can I expect during the tour?

The tour includes stays at centrally located hotels, typically on a twin-share basis.

Is it necessary to have an up-to-date passport for traveling?

An updated passport is mandatory at least 60 days prior to departure to ensure smooth processing.

  He can book a single room, which offers privacy but comes at a higher cost. Rate will be $2,889.00. Alternatively, he can choose a twin share room, where he'll be automatically paired with another traveler of the same gender. Roommates are assigned by Contiki, so guests don't choose who they'll be sharing with. Rate will be $2,066.00.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before April 22nd, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after April 22nd, 2026, a minimum payment of $200 is required to confirm your booking with Contiki. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
