Mexico City
You'll arrive in Mexico City whenever works for your flight. Your Tour Leader will meet you and the group in the evening for a welcome dinner and orientation. Afterward, take some time walking around your hotel neighborhood to get your bearings and settle in for the night.

- Day 2
Mexico City
Start your morning with a walking tour through Mexico City's Historic Center, then head to the National Museum of Anthropology for a guided visit. After lunch, you'll have free time to explore on your own, though your Tour Leader can point you toward worthwhile spots. The evening includes an optional dinner and group gathering if you're interested.

Mexico City to Grutas de Tolantongo
Travel by private vehicle to Tula to see the ancient Toltec ruins, particularly the 4.5m-high stone warrior figures. From there, continue to Grutas de Tolantongo where you can enjoy the thermal waters and take in the mountainous landscape. You'll check into your accommodation, with optional dinner and group time available later.

- Day 4
Grutas de Tolantongo to Zimapan
Begin with a morning thermal bath at Grutas de Tolantongo, then head to Zimapan Dam to see this engineering site known for its dramatic rock formations. Lunch offers the option of trying local fish at a family-run restaurant. Take a boat tour along the river to view the impressive 650+ foot-high stone walls, then walk through the 'Magic Town' of Zimapan. Evening includes an optional dinner and group gathering.

Zimapan to Xilitla
Head into Los Marmoles National Park in the Sierra Madre Oriental mountains. You'll sample local apple wine made by descendants of English settlers, then visit the dramatic foundry ruins where parts of the Eiffel Tower were actually forged. Hike to the 'Magent Stone,' a magnetic boulder with views across the valley. Travel to Xilitla for check-in, an orientation walk, optional dinner, and group time.

- Day 6
Xilitla to Aquismon
Visit Las Pozas, a surrealist sculpture garden built by English poet Edward James right in the middle of the jungle. Later, explore Sotano de las Huahuas, a large open-air pit cave where you can spot various birds like swifts and parakeets. From there, travel to Aquismon for accommodation, an orientation walk, optional dinner, and group gathering.

Aquismon to Micos Waterfalls
Spend the day at two different waterfalls, Tamul and Tamasopo, then check out Puente de Dios, a crystal-clear pool of water that looks illuminated by sunlight filtering through the rocks. Travel to eco-cabins near Micos Waterfalls where you'll have dinner and time with the group in the evening.

Micos Waterfalls to Tampico
After breakfast, explore the beautiful terraces at Micos Waterfalls, then visit Tamtoc, an impressive ancient Huastec city and one of Mexico's newer archaeological openings. Continue to Tampico, a historic port with varied architectural styles, and settle in with an orientation walk of the historic center. The evening features an optional farewell dinner and group gathering.
