- Day 1
Faro to Lagos
You'll arrive in Faro and get transferred to Lagos for check-in and a tour briefing. Once you're settled, spend the afternoon walking around this charming coastal town. The local farmers market is worth checking out if you want to see how locals shop and pick up some fresh Portuguese produce and regional goods.

Lagos to Luz Beach
Start hiking from Lagos along the river toward the coast, passing by the historic Lagos fortress and castle as you go. The trail takes you along the coastline to Ponta da Piedade, where you'll see those colorful cliffs, caves, and rock formations. After that, continue on to Luz Beach and spend some time exploring the Roman ruins that were recently excavated in this former fishing village.

Luz Beach to Salema
Today you'll hike through small fishing villages and pass several abandoned fortresses that used to protect against pirates. The route brings you to Salema, a secluded fishing village tucked into ochre cliffs. Stick around to watch the fishing boats come back in the evening, and grab dinner at one of the waterfront restaurants where you can try fresh local seafood.

Salema - Inland Villages
You can either take it easy today or explore inland. If you're up for hiking, there's a shorter 9 km option or a longer 17 km route through pine and fig forests. Both pass through white-washed villages like Barão de S. João and Barão de S. Miguel, with nice valley views before reaching Boca do Rio beach.

Salema to Sagres
This is the most scenic coastal day with deserted beaches and pristine lagoons. You'll have two hiking options depending on your energy level: start from Salema for the longer route or begin at Zavial Beach for something shorter. Either way, you'll hike along cliff trails to Baleeira Bay, known for its soft sand and five small islands just offshore.

- Day 6
Cape São Vicente to Sagres
Your last hiking day starts at Cape São Vicente, the dramatic southwestern tip where land meets sea. You'll see the historic lighthouse from 1846 sitting on top of a 16th-century Franciscan monastery, one of Europe's most illuminated lighthouses. The walk toward Sagres follows high cliffs with constant Atlantic views and hidden beaches tucked below.
