Itinerary
- Day 1
Mexico City
You'll arrive in Mexico City and have the day to explore on your own terms. Wander the neighborhoods, grab lunch wherever catches your eye, or relax at your hotel. Then Saturday evening you'll meet up with your Tour Leader and the rest of the group for an informational meeting and welcome dinner to get oriented.

- Day 2
Mexico City
Start with a walking tour through the UNESCO-listed Historic Center, taking in the architecture and main plazas. After that you'll head to the National Museum of Anthropology to see the famous Aztec Sun Stone and other artifacts. The afternoon is yours to do what you want, though your Tour Leader will have suggestions. There's an optional group dinner later if you want to join.

Teotihuacán - Puebla
Head out to Teotihuacán to climb the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon at this ancient archaeological zone. From there a private vehicle takes you to Puebla, where you'll walk through the colonial center and see the ornate cathedral and colonial churches. If you're interested, join the group for optional dinner this evening.

- Day 4
Tehuacán-Cuicatlán - Oaxaca
After breakfast you'll drive and walk through the Tehuacán-Cuicatlán Biosphere Reserve to see different plant and animal ecosystems and learn about the region's agricultural traditions. Later you'll continue on to Oaxaca City, which has a rich cultural scene with indigenous traditions, great food, and historic churches and plazas throughout.

- Day 5
Monte Albán - Hierve el Agua - Mitla
Visit Monte Albán, the ancient Zapotec capital with impressive ceremonial structures and views over the valley. Next stop is Hierve el Agua where mineral springs have created natural terraces you can see and sometimes wade in. Then you'll head to Mitla for an orientation walk through the town, with optional dinner available with the group.

- Day 6
Puerto Arista
You'll travel to Puerto Arista, a quiet beach town on the coast with golden sand. Take an ATV ride right on the beach and time it so you can watch the sunset over the water. There's optional dinner at a local restaurant if you want to eat with the group.

Sumidero Canyon - Chiapa de Corzo
Spend the morning at the beach, then board a boat to go through Sumidero Canyon where you'll see waterfalls, rock caves, and wildlife. Your guide will share information about Chiapanec history and culture along the way. After that you'll head to Chiapa de Corzo for an orientation walk through the colorful Renaissance architecture and optional group dinner.

- Day 8
San Juan de Chamula - San Cristóbal de las Casas
Start with an orientation walk in San Juan de Chamula, a center for Tzotzil indigenous culture with its own unique religious traditions. Lunch is optional here. Then continue to San Cristóbal de las Casas, a colonial city nestled in a highland valley surrounded by pine forest. You'll check in, have time to explore the historic center, and can join the group for optional dinner.

Tuxtla Gutiérrez
This is your final day. After breakfast you'll get transferred to the local bus station and take an intercity bus to Tuxtla Gutiérrez. Once there you can either explore the city or head straight to Tuxtla Gutiérrez International Airport depending on your flight time.
