  This tour was well organised and really enjoyable. From being met at the airport, pre passport control with advice with what questions we will need to answer which was very helpful after 17 hours travelling. The hotels were top quality, all my rooms were massive, breakfasts good and the pool clean and welcoming. The tours were well managed with great guides, lots included and lots to see. Highly recommend this for anyone without too much time that wants to see to amazing regions of Costa Rica.Show more

They helped us to plan an extra night and all the excursions went as planned. Good hotels and choices of activities.   The tour was good overall, the pick up at the airport and transport to the hotel was seemless. The hotel in San Jose was OK but nothing special tucked in a complex with a Holiday Inn and a Denny’s. It was in need of updating. The guide and driver (Harold) for the trip to Altea, ox cart and hot springs was very knowledgeable and excellent. The itinerary was a bit packed and getting back at 22:00 with a 6 a.m start was a bit gruesome. The trip to Tortugero national park was long and we shared with many people on a longer tour so we didn’t get their itinerary. The hotel was fine, though the buffet style food was not very good or varied. The company seemed to subcontract all items offered.Show more

  I booked this tour for my February break. The travel person assigned to me was Patricia. She was difficult to communicate with, often answering my emails days later or giving me numbers to call on What's Ap that didn't answer. Even though I asked multiple times for her contact info I was never given a way to reach her directly. I have never had this happen at Tour Radar before and it caused a lot of anxiety for me. The first day I wanted 1 1/2 hours for my tour guide to pick me up and was concerned I was forgotten. Once Destination Services arrived they were efficient and responsive and immediately gave me a number so I could message them the next morning and check on actual pick-up time. Patricia did not give me confirmation codes for my Interbus connections and I had the same struggle to find out if I was getting picked up, where and when. Luckily my tour guides spoke Spanish and helped me out by calling and getting the info. Interbus was also very helpful once I had the confirmation numbers so I could call them So basically, terrible customer service from Patricia, great customer service from others! The "hike" to the volcano was incredibly brief and since it was raining we moved on. Hot springs-our group was split up into 2 groups at different hotels. Ours did not have any lockers available and we had to pay for towels so it was not the best experience as the tubs were crowded and we had to drag around our bags. Tortuguero National Park was awesome-great nature hikes, good food, cool cottages, helpful people and everything was as described or better. In hindsight I would spend more time at Tortuguero and less on the other tours. And be sure to ask if you will have access to your travel person BEFORE you book-that makes all the difference!Show more

  Excellent and well-organized tour. All the airport, hotel, and tour pick-up were punctual and efficient. The tours to Mt. Arenal volcano and Baldi Hot Springs were very good, and Erick, our guide was excellent. Similarly, the tour to Tortuguero National Park was very good, and the guides, Ignacio and Daniel were excellent. The lodge and the meals at the Tortuguero National Park were very good, but note that there is no TV or wifi in the rooms, and the windows cannot be shut at night to quiet the birds' noise outside at night, if you are expecting these things. The boat ride and the wildlife watch tour were excellent. A couple of things I would suggest for the tour company to address in the Mt. Arenal and Baldi Springs day tour: (1) If you can include in the tour description and itinerary that tour members would be provided with a towel and a key to a locker, it would have been very helpful as I carried a big towel unnecessarily and was worried about my personal belongings. (2) At the Baldi Hot Springs, after 2.5 hours of soaking in the hot springs, we were all done by 5 pm and hungry, and so, if the dinner had been started earlier say 5 or 5:30 pm, it would have helped us to get back to our hotels by 10 or 10:30 pm instead of pas t11 pm. Some of us had to get up early next day to check out of the hotel by 6:15 am for the next day's tour to Tortuguero National Park, and could have enjoyed the next day's tour with a little more sleep. The Sleep Inn Hotel at San Jose, arranged by the tour company was excellent and was within walking distance to all the main shopping areas, restaurants, and the museums. The hotel breakfast and fitness room were very good. The hotel staff were very helpful to give me directions to local attractions near the hotel. In my free time, I was able to visit the National Museum within 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel, and across from the Jade Museum. If you are walking around on your own, be ware of the sidewalks in San Jose as they were in bad condition and can be tripped easily, if not paying attention. Of course, this is not the tour company or the hotel's problem, but more of the San Jose city issue. I highly recommend this tour and this tour company.Show more

  It was a pretty good experience. The only part that was a bit inconvenient was over 3 hours ride to Arenal Volcano site from our hotel in a small white tourist van. I was expecting a better comfortable tourist bus since the road was a lot of winding and turns and also many pick ups on the way. My co traveller was an elderly lady and it was quite rough on her at the end of the day. One more thing to add was I didn’t get any welcome letter or contact from my tour operator until a day before our tour started.Instead, I had to constantly reach them through email or wats app . The hotel information they gave me earlier was different. Luckily, an agent contacted after my many attempts and send me a note of welcome letter with details just a day before. This was something that should have been done atleast 3 or 5 days prior to our trip. I had to resend my flight details which I had already provided them way ahead but seemed like they didn’t have it. So last minute , it was again finalized and set. Nevertheless, the whole trip went well once the tour started. Jazmin came to pick us up at the airport and she was so helpful and available anytime we needed any help with questions. She provided us her number and was really so helpful with all arrangement. She is a great agent. Thanks to her for our trip . I loved the trip ! Worth visiting the place. Good experience over all.Show more
