Itinerary
- Day 1
Paro to Thimphu
Your guide picks you up at Paro airport for the drive to Thimphu, which takes around 1.5 hours. You'll stop at Tamchog Lhakhang Iron Bridge along the way to grab some photos. Once you arrive in Thimphu, the afternoon is set aside for exploring the city. You'll visit the National Memorial Chorten, check out the Buddha Dordenma Statue, and then head to Thimphu Dzong, a Buddhist monastery and fortress.

- Day 2
Thimphu
Start the morning with a 1.5 hour hike up to Tango Monastery, which is the most important religious school in Bhutan. The walk takes you through beautiful scenery. After lunch, you'll visit the Thirteen Traditional Arts and Crafts School and the Folk Heritage Museum. The afternoon also includes time at Motithang Takin Preserve to see Bhutan's national animal, and you'll finish the day at the Traditional Paper Making Factory.

Thimphu to Punakha
After breakfast, you're heading to Punakha with a coffee break planned at Dochula Pass. On clear days, you can see views of the Himalayan mountains from there, and the 108 stupas are worth taking time to admire. From there, you'll hike for about 1.5 hours to reach Chimmi Lhakang. The route continues to Punakha Dzong, which sits at the confluence of two rivers. The Suspension Bridge nearby is also worth a quick visit.

- Day 4
Punakha to Gangtey
You're driving to Gangtey, also called Phobjikha valley, a glacial valley where black-necked cranes come to roost during winter months as they migrate from Tibet. On the drive there, you'll stop at Rinchengang village, which is well-known for its masonry work. After about 2 hours of driving, you'll arrive and visit Gangtey Monastery, where you can see beautiful murals.

Gangtey to Trongsa
Start with a 45-minute hike on the Gangtey Nature Trail around the crane roosting habitat to see the natural landscape. You'll stop at the crane information center and visit Gangtey primary school to meet with local children and teachers. Then you're looking at a scenic 5 to 6 hour drive to Trongsa, crossing Pele La Pass and making a brief stop at Chenbdji Chorten.

The morning involves visiting Trongsa Dzong and its museum. Then you'll travel to Bumthang, which is about a 4 hour drive from there. Along the way, stop to see weaving centers and shops where you can watch artisans working with sheep wool to create textiles.

Bumthang
You have the full day to explore Bumthang valley. The itinerary includes visits to Kurje Lhakhang, Jambey Lhakang, Tamshing Lhakhang, and Jakar Dzong, which is the administrative center. You'll walk through the village to meet people and check out handicraft shops. In the afternoon, there's a short hike up to Lhodrak Kharchhu Monastery.

Bumthang to Paro
After breakfast, you're heading to the airport for a flight to Paro. Once you land, a pickup will take you to your hotel for check-in. After a short rest, you'll visit Ta Dzong, an old watchtower that now houses the National Museum, then move on to Paro Dzong, which is also called Rinphung Dzong.

Paro
Following breakfast, you'll hike to Taktsang (Tiger's Nest), the holiest Buddhist monastery in Bhutan. It's perched on a cliff about 900 meters above Paro Valley with beautiful landscape views. In the afternoon, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest religious fortresses with two temples inside. Later, head to Aum Chencho Farm House where you can dress in traditional Bhutanese clothing and learn about local culture.
