We don't offer complimentary spots for leaders, but if you would like to organise a private group we can look into this for you. We are a group travel company and all our tours include all activities and experiences, awesome accommodation, all transport, some meals and an awesome group leader - so no need to provide your own. Your Intro Group Leader will take care of everything, so you can relax and enjoy your experience!

We are really interested by this itinerary but we are about 62-63, all in good shape and travel around the world! Can you accept us?

Unfortunately, we do have a maximum age limit of 55 for this trip, so we would be unable to accept any bookings over this age. I'm really sorry about that! You might like to check out Intrepid Travel or G Adventures, as they offer a wide range of tours that could be a great fit.

I'm traveling solo and this would be a perfect tour for me. The only issue is I would have to leave Cape Town early. Is there a way to customize this?

It's no problem if you need to leave the tour early, just bear in mind you could miss out on some cool experiences in Cape Town. Which start date are you looking at joining? And when would you need to leave?

Is there any vaccination required for the trip?

There are no compulsory vaccinations for any of our destinations, but it's good to check with a local medical professional for advice.

What is the policy for changing dates if needed?

You can change your date for free up to 30 days before your start date.

Will the game drives be on road or off road or mixture of both? What kind of vehicles? Do we get to see animals up close? How are the road conditions? Would it be an issue for someone with some motion sickness? For accommodations that are camping, can you describe what it is? Is it sleeping bags and tents or have some type of beds?

Kruger is mostly on paved roads through the park. However, there are some areas where you go off-road. The off-road bits aren't very bumpy, but they ARE off-road. Eswatini is all off-road but, again, not super bumpy. The vehicles are covered, open-back trucks with 3 rows of 3 seats each. Depending on the animal, some do get quite close (within a meter or two). However, more dangerous animals, the drivers keep their distance and don't typically get any closer than 5-10 meters. For the accommodation, tenting is in large tents with proper beds inside with shared toilets.

How do we schedule flights?

All transport while on the trip is included, as well as all your accommodation, activities and some meals. You will need to arrange your own transport to the start of the trip and back from the end of the trip. Your Group Leader can help you sort out all your onward travel when you're there to ensure you are comfortable and confident with where you are going next.

How can I find out about the group size for my departure?

We usually receive most bookings around 2-3 months before the start date, so we expect a larger group by then.

Just finished an awesome trip to South Africa with Intro Travel!! The 12 day tour was my second tour with Intro and definitely lived up to expectations. The tour included many amazing cultural experiences visiting the Zulu warrior tribal village and eating traditional South African foods eg. “Braii” & “Bunny chow”. The best part of the tour though was the safari days slap bang in the middle of the tour. We saw the big 5 on the first game drive - so incredible!! Our group leader Previledge was fantastic - such a knowledgeable and friendly guy, he kept everyone safe and entertained us the whole way through helping everyone in our group have a great time. ““Shosholoza”” At times I forgot he was the guide as he fitted in so well and was not just the guide he was part of our group. A credit to intro travel for sure! After two great Intro trips I have whacked down a deposit for a third - bring on more Intro adventures!!!Show more

South Africa with Liezl was INCREDIBLE! I had an AMAZING experience on INTRO's 12-day South Africa Adventure trip, it honestly was the trip of a lifetime! We saw loads of animals during our game drives, including the Big Five within the first few hours in Kruger National Park. Our group leader, Leizl, was absolutely fantastic—knowledgeable, funny, approachable, and attentive to everyone's needs, making the tour even more special. Whether you were gluten-free or vegetarian, she was always looking out for you; she had plenty of games up her sleeve, and so much expertise about her home country. The group was lovely, and every activity was fun and well-organised. We also had great local guides for certain activities (Mama Queen in Soweto was brilliant, as were our safari guides), opportunities for authentic cultural exchange at the creches, and the food was delicious everywhere we went. When we were tired from the action-packed days, we always had very comfortable accommodations to return to. Expect a lot of every mornings and chill evenings, but it means you make the most of everything there is to do each day! Overall, the trip was very well planned, and it has left me eager to return to Africa as soon as possible. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an 'intro' to travel in Africa.Show more

The trip had such a great mix of experiences: amazing safaris where we saw elephants, lions and giraffes up close, exploring lively towns, and chilling in some incredible spots. A big shoutout to our group leader, Prev, who honestly made the trip what it was. He’s based in South Africa and knows the country inside out, so we got to see way more than we ever would on our own. He kept the vibe really fun and relaxed, and it never felt like a “tour” – more like travelling with a bunch of mates. Even though we went as a honeymoon couple, this trip is just as perfect for solo travellers – it’s super social and you get to meet some great people along the way. One of the unexpected highlights was crossing into Eswatini. Such a cool country to experience, plus it gave us that all-important bonus passport stamp! Honestly, it was the adventure of a lifetime and such a unique way to start married life.   The great thing about South Africa is it's a predominantly sunny country, and travel is possible year round to do its size, diverse landscapes and attractions. Summer weather lasts from October to April, and winter brings cooler temperatures but fewer crowds and perfect safari conditions from May to September.
