Belfast
Spend the day exploring Belfast at your own pace. Walk through Victorian buildings and head to Queen's University, then see City Hall in Donegall Square. Belfast to Derry
Drive north through the Nine Glens of Antrim where you'll see mountains, valleys, and coastal views (this area's famous from Game of Thrones filming). Stop to photograph Dunluce Castle perched on a cliff. You can visit the Giant's Causeway with its massive hexagonal columns created by volcanic activity 60 million years ago. In Derry, walk the medieval defensive walls around the old city and cross the Peace Bridge, then check out the Derry Visitor Information Centre if you're interested in the Visit Derry Pass covering 10 attractions.

Derry to Westport
Travel through Donegal's rugged countryside with heathery hills and grazing sheep. You can stop at Triona Design in Ardara or Donegal Town to watch handweaving demonstrations. From there, head toward County Mayo and Westport, a charming heritage town with riverside walks and Georgian stone bridges. After dinner at your hotel, explore the local pubs where some feature live music.

Westport
Choose your own route today. Drive to Leenane and Killary Harbour (Ireland's only fjord) or head to Achill Island with its dramatic scenery and the Deserted Village of abandoned stone cottages from 1845. Back in Westport, you can take a guided tour of Westport House (an 18th-century mansion with original contents) or spend your evening pub hopping.

Limerick to Killarney

Killarney to Waterford
Head out for Waterford, but first you can stop at Blarney Castle (nearly 600 years old) and climb to kiss the famous Blarney Stone for the legendary gift of eloquence. Walk through the extensive gardens spread across 60 acres. Continue to Waterford, Ireland's oldest city, settled by Vikings and prosperous in the 1700s.
