  1. Day 1

    Guatemala City Airport to Antigua Guatemala

    You'll touch down at La Aurora International Airport where someone will be waiting to help you with your transfer to Antigua Guatemala. Get settled into your accommodation and take the evening to rest after traveling.

  2. Day 2

    Antigua Guatemala

    After breakfast, head out to explore Antigua, one of the most significant colonial cities in the Americas. You'll walk through La Merced Monastery, check out the Main Square, and see the Cathedral. There's time built in for shopping and grabbing lunch on your own. The afternoon brings a half-day mountain biking trip through the surrounding hills where your guide talks about Ciudad Vieja's complex history before heading back to town.

  3. Day 3

    Antigua Guatemala to Acatenango Volcano

    Following breakfast at the hotel, you'll head toward the Acatenango Volcano foothills. Your guides go over what to expect before the climb starts. You'll have lunch during the hike, and then camp gets set up for the night. By sunset you'll reach the summit and watch Fuego Volcano erupt. There's a bonfire and time with the group before you settle in for sleeping under the stars.

    Antigua Guatemala to Chichicastenango to Lake Atitlán

    Starting after breakfast, head early to the central highlands to see Chichicastenango's indigenous market with its vibrant activity and local traditions. Stop by the Church of Santo Tomás, then continue to Lake Atitlán ringed by three volcanoes. A scenic drive through Panajachel happens before you settle in by the lake for the evening.

  6. Day 6

    Lake Atitlán - San Juan La Laguna

    Have breakfast and then board a boat to San Juan La Laguna, a Tz'utujil village on the lake. You'll walk through the community to see the Catholic Church, then visit an artisanal chocolate factory, a textile cooperative where they work with natural dyes, and local artisans who work with medicinal plants. After exploring, head back to Panajachel and drive to Guatemala City for your overnight stay.

Once you arrive, you'll go directly to Tikal Archaeological Park for a guided tour through 'The Place of Voices.' You'll see Complex Q and R, the Central Acropolis, Temple I, Temple II, and the Lost World depending on time. Lunch at the Visitor Center is on your own, then you'll head back to your hotel in Flores.

    Flores to Candelaria Caves to Cobán

    After breakfast, you'll transfer toward Cobán with a stop at Candelaria Caves National Park along the way. This is one of Latin America's most impressive cave systems with an underground river, and it holds significance in Mayan history while protecting diverse wildlife. You'll explore the caves before continuing on to Cobán for the night.

  9. Day 9

    Cobán - Semuc Champey

    Start with breakfast before heading to Semuc Champey in Lanquín. This natural site has a 500-meter limestone bridge with the Cahábón River flowing underneath and turquoise pools formed by underground springs above it. You'll have free time in the afternoon to swim in the pools and enjoy the jungle setting before returning to Cobán.

    • For any tour departing before March 19th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after March 19th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Receptivo Aborigen Tours. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 95 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
    • Some departure dates and prices may vary and Receptivo Aborigen Tours will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
