Dear Rachel Thank you for contacting us. We appreciate your sincere and objective comments, as they are the best way to improve the experience for future travelers. Casa Natura is characterized for being a cozy and family-own lodge that disconnects guests from the world, a place where they can relax in the pool or read a book surrounded by nature. I am happy that you loved seeing the giant tortoises, lava tunnels, Tortuga Bay Beach and the tour to Isabela. It is great that you found the tours and activities wonderful, although it is a pity that they were shorter than expected. Unfortunately, all activities in the Galapagos are regulated by the Galapagos National Park, and they have to finish around 4 PM. You probably noticed this, and there is not much we or any other hotel or operator can do about it. Expedition cruises in the Galapagos are a better alternative for active travelers, as they offer two excursions per day. However, they are more expensive than land-based options. Previous guests have always asked Johnny to drive them to town in their free time in order to enjoy local gastronomy, souvenirs, and bars. They also like to share time with locals. However, we understand that not everyone likes the same. We wish you had told Johnny or me about this situation. We could have called you and looked for a solution for you. Johnny was right that the other option was to go back to the hotel and enjoy its swimming pool, play pool, or relax and recover for the following day. As per internet, Casa Natura does its best to offer a reliable internet connection at the hotel, but internet is not stable anywhere in the Galapagos, not even in town. I am sorry about this. Johnny does his best to assist guests with his limited English and tries to make up for it with his desire to assist guests with everything that is possible for him. The program is designed and offered on a shared basis, so Johnny is supposed to drive you to the different locations where you meet a guide. The other option would be to pay for a private tour, but this would be way more expensive, as you probably saw on other tours. Everyone in Galapagos knows each other, and this is why Johnny greeted with the guides that escorted you and the rest of the group to the visitors’ sites. Casa Natura Lodge is a family run hotel, and Johnny’s children enjoy working with customers. One of them likes to sing and has serenaded guests in the past. We are sorry if you felt uncomfortable about them serving you. We will take these comments into consideration for future guests. We will ask them if they feel OK with this. We talked to the operations department, and they confirmed that they purchase bread every morning and the cheese is fresh. However, we already asked them to look for a different supplier. We also told Johnny that they must be more careful with the eggs and any other food served to guests, as they can definitely not be cold. Summarizing, we really appreciate your feedback, and we will use it to improve our guests’ experience. We are also going to be more explicit on Tour Radar that all tours and services are shared and the fact that Casa Natura is a family-run hotel. We are very sorry that the hotel did not match your expectations and hope you were still able to enjoy the Galapagos Islands. Best regards, Ariana Ayala Via Natura’s Experience Designer

    Asked on September 19th, 2022

Would it be possible to adjust the itinerary to 3 Nights / 4 Days, leaving at midday to mainland Ecuador on the fourth day? We are looking at dates in the last week of November.

    Tour Details
    • Via Natura EcuadorOperatorWritten September 2022

We have a 3 nights / 4 days Galapagos Discovery Tour. You will leave to Ecuador mainland on the fourth day. I think this one would perfectly suit what you are looking for!

  • G

    Asked on August 15th, 2022

Would we be able to attend all of the events on the first day of the tour, or would we miss out on the Giant Tortoise Reserve?

    Tour Details
    • Via Natura EcuadorOperatorWritten August 2022

If you arrive at 12:20PM you will not miss out the visit to the Giant Tortoise Reserve. That time arrival would be great, so do not worry! You will be able to observe very closely at Giant Tortoises in their natural habitat and its peculiar behavior.

6 feet tall people will perfectly fit in our cabins. Beds and cabin height is about 6.5 feet, so that would not be a problem!

    Asked on January 14th, 2022

1)Our chosen tour id is for May 26-30, 2022 for $899/per person 2) We are ready to pay. Do we pay individually via Tourradar? 3) I was messaged in my email that I do get some form of discount by bringing 10 people as a group. I would like to know specifically how much so I'll know how much to pay? 4) I would like to know what time is the pick up from the airport in Baltra or does it depend on our flight arrival? 5) Is there a tour on the 5th day (May 30th) in the morning? If none, then I could go ahead and book a flight anytime?

    • Via Natura EcuadorOperatorWritten January 2022

There are no excursions scheduled for the last day so you can book your return flight any time. To book the whole group of 10 guests, the group should be divided in 5 different bookings of the people that are sharing the room together. We will make that internal note to our operations team. We will book you last to make sure we apply the 5% additional discount and the upgrade to the Superior Room.

    • I

      Ian

      TravelerWritten January 2022

May I ask if we can buy the day to day tour from you when we get there? We're kind of wary now in buying the tour package right away because of the Omicron virus surge. We can't foresee what will happen. Buying it when we get there gives us more flexibility in case some of us would rather just do 1 or 2 day trips and the month of May is low season anyway? Plus, some in our group would rather do scuba diving.

    • Via Natura EcuadorOperatorWritten January 2022

The promotion of 10% ends at the end of this month. You can buy separately the different excursions but if you add them together, it will probably add to more than just buying them in a package. Also, there is always the issue of availability at the time of booking. If you make the reservation of this package before the end of the month you can take advantage of the 10% discount and if for covid related reasons, you need to postpone the trip, you can always do that on another date in 2022.

I would recommend you to fly into Quito, one of the most beautiful cities in Latin America. We would be pleased to grant you and your husband an incentive if you have a group of 8 people. This program includes all tours (excursions in the Galapagos), accommodations, and meals. Meals begin with lunch and end with breakfast.

The $500 air tickets are for the route Quito/Guayaquil to Galapagos and back to Quito/Guayaquil.

We can generate an individual payment link for every guest. There is a single supplement if guests want to have a single room to themselves. As this tour is a budget friendly experience, we are happy to provide an additional 5% discount for you and your husband and offer an optional upgrade to Superior Room.
