  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Delhi

    You'll arrive in Delhi and get transferred to your hotel where you'll meet your Travel Director and the group. After settling in, there's a Welcome Dinner this evening to kick things off for your trip through northern India.

  2. Day 2

    Delhi Exploration

    Today you'll take a rickshaw ride through Old Delhi's busy streets, stopping at the Red Fort and the vibrant Chandni Chowk market. You'll also see Jama Masjid, one of India's largest mosques, and visit Raj Ghat where Mahatma Gandhi is memorialized. The day includes checking out Agrasen Ki Baoli stepwell with its 103 ornate stone steps before heading back to your hotel. The afternoon is free for relaxation or optional activities.

  3. Day 3

    New Delhi Heritage and Culture

    You'll start with a guided walk through the Salaam Baalak Trust, which supports street children in New Delhi. After exploring Paharganj bazaar with locals, you head to the UNESCO-listed Humayun's Tomb and its restored gardens. Lunch is near India Gate, and then you'll see the Qutub Minar complex with its ornate Victory Tower. The drive back passes through Lutyens' Delhi's colonial architecture before you return to the hotel for free time or optional activities.

    Delhi to Agra

    You'll leave Delhi for Agra and see the Taj Mahal as the sun sets, with rose and golden light on its marble surfaces. You can walk around and take in the monument from different angles. An optional sound and light show is available this evening before dinner.

  5. Day 5

    Agra to Ranthambore

    The morning starts at Agra Fort, a UNESCO site and 17th-century royal residence where Mughal emperors ruled from. After that, you'll visit Fatehpur Sikri, the 'Ghost Town' built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 that was abandoned due to water scarcity but remains well-preserved with its rusty-red sandstone. Lunch happens in Bharatpur, and then you'll board a train for Ranthambore where you'll spend the next two nights.

    Ranthambore National Park

    Early morning brings a safari in Ranthambore National Park, the former hunting ground of the Maharaja of Jaipur. You'll have chances to spot tigers and see birdlife, so bring your camera. Back at the hotel, there's a late breakfast and time to rest or try optional activities. After lunch, you'll go on a second game drive to see more wildlife and birds before dinner at the hotel.

    Ranthambore to Jaipur

    You're heading to Jaipur, the Pink City. After some free time for lunch, there's a hand-block printing workshop where you'll learn this traditional Rajasthani art form using wooden blocks. You'll check out a local market with colorful textiles, embroidery, and blue pottery from local craftspeople. This evening brings an exclusive Be My Guest dinner at a local family's home where you'll try regional dishes.

    Jaipur Heritage Sites

    You'll visit the UNESCO-listed Amber Fort and see the Palace of Winds with its red and pink facades and latticed windows. The ornate City Palace complex has buildings from different periods and gardens in the Old City. After lunch, there's the UNESCO-listed Jantar Mantar Observatory with the world's largest sundial. An optional Aarti ceremony at the Birla Temple is available, and the evening ends with a Farewell Dinner for those completing their journey in Jaipur.

    Your included flight takes you to Varanasi, the sacred Hindu pilgrimage center on the Ganges River. After free time for lunch, you'll explore Weavers Village to learn about centuries-old silk weaving traditions and watch craftspeople make famous Banarasi silk saris. This evening, you'll cruise down the River Ganges to see the spiritual Aarti ritual with diyas floating down the water before returning to the hotel for dinner.

    Varanasi Spiritual Exploration

    You'll witness the sacred sunrise over the Ganges as locals bathe and worship the rising sun. Walking through the oldest living city, you'll visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple with its golden spires and domes. Back at the hotel for breakfast and free time, there's an optional live Kathak classical dance performance to watch. In the afternoon, you'll visit Sarnath, one of four holy Buddhist pilgrimage sites, to see 3rd century BC Buddhist artifacts and the Lion Capital of Ashoka. The evening is free back at your hotel.

    Do you drive to the airport in Varanasi, and then fly to Delhi to fly back to the United States? Or do you fly from Varansai back to the United States. Or do you drive by coach from Varansai to Delhi and then fly home from Delhi back to the United States.

    • For any tour departing before May 13th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after May 13th, 2026, a minimum payment of $200 is required to confirm your booking with Trafalgar. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 95 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
