My wife and kids recently had an unforgettable 5-day private tour with Vibe to Hidalgo. Our guide, Tony, was exceptional - knowledgeable, entertaining, and always in the flow. The Tolantongo caves were a highlight, with the kids thoroughly enjoying the experience. The basaltic prisms were also a unique and breathtaking sight. Exploring Real del Monte, the hometown of my grandmother, was a journey through history, and the pastes museum was a must-visit. Thank you Vibe and special thanks to Tony for making it an unforgettable experience!

I gave three stars, but really I want to give our guide, Daniel, five stars, and the tour company, Vibe Adventures, one star. When I booked I was told I would be sent an itinerary two weeks before the trip. A week before the trip I hadn't received anything and so I wrote asking if there was a document. I got a link to a google doc back within a couple of hours. The itinerary matched the tour description well and I had no reason to question anything on the itinerary. I didn't look at the document again before being picked up Friday morning for the trip. There was no further communication from the tour company about the itinerary, so we were quite surprised when the guide told us the first stop was Teotihuacan, which was not mentioned in the tour description or on the version of the itinerary I had read. It turns out that Vibe Adventures had sent the same google doc to our tour guide, but not sent me a note saying that they were making changes. I understand that unexpected things happen, especially with the pandemic, but the total lack of communication bothered me. It turned out that this was just the first of many problems with the tour company's planning. Daniel stepped in here and said that he knew other historic sites hat we could visit and still keep up the overall itinerary, so we agreed to go to whatever he thought we should see. He turned out to have great historical knowledge spanning the pre-Columbian, colonial and modern eras. We greatly enjoyed his suggested sites and explanations of the significance of these places. The rest of the tour was great because Daniel knows Hildago well and was able to plan on the fly and make the experience good. He kept up a good face for the company, just saying that unexpected things happen and thanking us for our flexibility, but it was obvious that Vibe Adventures had done a terrible job planning the trip. A lot of things weren't open at all or were not open the hours that the itinerary would have required. It was obvious that no one had checked because Daniel was on the phone a lot getting open hours while we were driving. The drive times in the itinerary were also completely off. Not because of uncontrollable factors like weather or traffic, but jut because overly optimistic assumptions had been made. At one point we ended up n a twisty dirt road that was supposed to take ~1.5 hours to drive. That might have been possible if we were locals with a four wheel drive vehicle. Daniel was a quite capable driver, but his medium size sedan required slower more careful navigation of the road (which we appreciated given the sheer cliffs we were driving along). It was obvious to us that no one from the tour company had actually ever come to these places. This was par for the trip. Overall I would love to go on another trip with Daniel, but will stay far away from Vibe Adventures, and recommend others do the same.

Dear Benjamin, thanks a lot for your straightforward and sincere feedback. Indeed, due to pandemics and the fact that some places either keep being closed or have limited working hours, several changes to the itinerary were made that were reflected in... Show more
