  2. Day 2

    Managua - León

    After breakfast, you'll check out Managua's main attractions including Tiscapa Crater Lake and the National Museum. You'll grab lunch and then head toward León, making a stop at the León Viejo ruins along the way. By evening you're settling into León.

    León

    This morning takes you to the bubbling San Jacinto Mudfields. Then it's time to walk around León with a guide, hitting the Ortiz Gurdian Museum, the local fruit and vegetable market, and León Cathedral where you can climb to the rooftop for views. Later that evening you'll try 11 different varieties of Flor de Caña rum at a local bar.

    León - Masaya - Granada

    After breakfast you're heading to the active Masaya Volcano and browsing its artisan market. Lunch happens at the Catarina viewpoint overlooking Apoyo Lagoon. Then you'll visit San Juan de Oriente to see how locals make handicrafts. From there you'll continue to Granada and check in at your hotel.

    Today's a full Granada day. You'll take a horse-drawn carriage through the city, visiting the San Francisco Convent museum and climbing the bell tower at La Merced church for panoramic views. You'll see Xalteva church and the old city walls too. In the afternoon, a boat tour takes you through Las Isletas archipelago where you can check out a former Spanish fortress and spot local wildlife.

    The ferry takes you to Ometepe Island. You'll start at the Museum El Ceibo to learn about pre-Columbian culture, then head to Charco Verde Nature Reserve for Laguna Verde and its bird habitats. During the afternoon, you'll find a hidden spring on the island's east side for swimming before heading back to your hotel.

    You're back in Granada for a chocolate workshop where you'll learn how cacao becomes chocolate and make your own drinks to taste. From there, you'll visit Café Las Flores coffee plantation on Mombacho Volcano's slopes to see how coffee grows and sample local varieties. Later you'll transfer to Apoyo Lagoon and check into your hotel.

    • For any tour departing before April 13th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after April 13th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Agate Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
