Eva, we are very sorry you feel this way. We explained to you numerous times what was included and what was not included over the course of 6 months leading up to this tour. This tour requires a food kitty to cover lunches- those were provided to you. Hotels are mid range hotels conveniently located adjacent to the parks in order to allow guests to enjoy full days exploring rather than driving long distances from hotels to parks. Hotels are not advertised with room service. Instead, they either have on site restaurants/cafes or several restaurants choices within a 20 yard radius. In addition to that, hotel guests are invite to join several group meals al fresco- in this instance you were invited to a pizza on the rim of the Grand Canyon, a traditional Navajo taco meal in Monument Valley and a BBQ in Bryce. We also note that you were travelling with two companions who booked the camping version yet you sneaked them into your hotel room each night without hotel authorization. We sincerely hope that you do thorough planning and research for any future travel that you take to ensure that your selection is right for you. All the information provided on this tour is 100% accurate. We hope that you found beauty in the national parks.

Thanks Camila, glad you enjoyed your Southwest Adventure with John! Communal lunches are still a little challenging with covid - trying to balance a healthy lunch spread with individual items is tricky especially when you think about the remoteness of the areas visited. We will work with John to identify area for improvement.

I was putting this tour on hold when it was on sale but the app wasn't allowing me to book and now the price has returned to the regular price. I'm traveling in Europe so the price is being given in Euros and would like the price in Canadian dollars. If not possible to give me the sale price that's fine I will book elsewhere.

What is the probability of your cancelling the tour, perhaps when there are not enough people? I have to purchase airline tickets, buy insurance, take vacation days etc... I saw from the earlier dates that you have more than 10+ vacancies.... do you cancel if there are not enough people?

    • Bindlestiff ToursOperatorWritten June 2024

If camping is selected, we will pair you up with another guest of the same gender in the same tent. Solo tent requests will be logged and accommodated if extra gear is available. It is not a guarantee, however.

I wanted to ask a few questions before I book the trip. First I was wondering what happens when the tour is not fully booked. Will it be cancelled and when will I know? Second I've got a question about the payment for the accommodation. In the description it was said that these are not included. What amount do you guys charge for the accommodation during the whole trip?

can the tour guide do guided walks if we are unsure where are the best viewing spots? in the 'included' list it says walks and hikes for most of the parks, but am unsure if this means if we're only permitted/able to walk in the park, or if this means guided walks are available and included in this package with the tour guide, in seeing the best spots? or are we on our own when we reach the destinations in terms of knowing where to go for walking/hiking?

    • Bindlestiff ToursOperatorWritten July 2023

Your tour guide will help you choose a walk/hike that suits your abilities and interests. You may also opt for gentle strolls and sightseeing, and perhaps take in some exhibits or a ranger talk if you decide not to walk at all. Most of the hikes are not guided by your tour guide.

How demanding are the hikes during the tour? Do I necessarily need hiking boots? Is the tent equipment complete? Do I need to bring anything else?

    Tour Details
    • Bindlestiff ToursOperatorWritten July 2022

There are walking and hiking opportunities on this tour. Your tour guide will help you choose a walk/hike that suits your abilities and interests. National parks recommend hiking boots for ankle support, but good running shoes can work fine. We provide the tent and sleeping pad, but not the sleeping bag. If you want to rent a sleeping bag, it's $40 for the entire tour. We suggest bringing: 3 season sleeping bag, travel pillow, travel towel, flashlight, sunscreen, sunhat, rainproof jacket, walking shoes, warm sweater, swimsuit.
