I cannot figure out how my bill went from $1207.0 to 2102.0. I booked with belief that the trip would be $1200 for a single person single room. Please explain.

The tour company sent me an artinary which was the same as the Brochure. There were no estimated times provided for daily departures/ returns. There was a day with departure of 3:30 am. I was advised of this the day before. Several days were 13-14 hoiurs long. I went as single person traveling solo. The tour cost me the same price as 2 people. It was not a group tour. However the tour sights were great and the drivers were excellent. Very prompt and communiative.Show more

The organisation of the tour was great, very reliable. The guides were quite knowledgeable and nice to talk to. Got to see everything I wanted in Chiapas, nature, Maya sits and got to spend some time in San Cristóbal de las Casas. You get to spend three different days with different people and partially different guides, so as a side advantage you get to know different people along the way. The other people on the tour were a nice mix of Mexican and overseas tourists, younger and older. Was the perfect tour for me.Show more

This trip is equal parts natural beauty and ancient history/ ruins. The waterfalls and lakes were beautiful. They would be great places to spend time in the water. If you have never seen Myan ruins, these are impressive. You should know this is not a tour where you will have a guide with you for your trip. There will be a different guide, driver and group of people will be with you each day. This is English and Spanish so you may not be able to communicate effectively with your fellow travelers. We drank only water we purchased and yet many of us got sick. I think it was the roadside eating places that were lacking. When you have Montezuma’s revenge it is difficult to enjoy a sigh that requires some hiking in the hot sun with no toilet in sight. We had a 3:30 am, 5:30 am and two 6:30 am pickup times. Our driver was always 20 to 35 minutes late. This is not a restful vacation. Some of the sights we visited required vigorous hiking on uneven terrain. Some of the guests struggled.Show more

As a solo female traveler, I felt safe the entire trip, which was my first priority. The itinerary was good; we visited most of the key sites in Chiapas area. I like that I got to stay in San Cristobal two nights. Hotels chosen by the agency was decent; in good center locations and clean. However, the schedule was tough; out of 4 mornings, one morning the pickup time was 3:30 AM (the day trip was 12 hours and the other one pick up was 5:30 AM (the day trip lasted 14 hours). The travel agency had me put in different group every day and it's a mix of Spanish and English-speaking travelers. The quality of the guides also varied. The biggest drawback was the van transportation, the agency tried to pack as many as they can; one of the days our luggage had to go on top of the van. The van really shouldn't pack more than 8 travelers in order to make it comfortable for everyone. So I took one star off. Given that there was very limited choice of Chiapas only small group tour, this was probably the best one available. I am glad I went on this tour.Show more

  Well I specifically put in my notes that I wanted a Group tour and my dates were flexible. Please advise if this tour will be just myself! At the price of $2000 I am paying for 2 people. I am not happy. There should have been more information in the booking.

We would like to explain the situation in detail: due to strict logistics and operational costs, all of our services require a minimum of 2 passengers to operate. Since you are traveling alone, the platform's system automatically applied a charge for a second person (a supplement) to guarantee the tour's departure. It is very important to clarify a key point regarding this supplement: paying the equivalent of two people guarantees that the tour will run for you on your requested dates, but it does not make the service a private tour. The excursion remains a shared service. This means that if other travelers book for the same dates, they will join the group as usual. Since it is logistically impossible for us to operate this service at the cost of a single person, we would like to offer the following alternatives: Maintain the booking at the current rate: By covering this amount, we guarantee your tour's departure under the shared modality mentioned above. Request a cancellation: If the "minimum of 2 passengers" condition or the shared nature of the trip was not clear in the platform details and does not align with your plans, we suggest contacting TourRadar support directly to request a cancellation. Payment information
- For any tour departing before July 26th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after July 26th, 2026, a minimum payment of 50% is required to confirm your booking with Otisa. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 40 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Otisa will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Otisa" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
