Itinerary
- Day 1
Quito to Quilotoa
Your hotel pickup in Quito sets you on the Avenue of the Volcanoes route, heading south through Latacunga and Pujilí along highland terrain. You'll stop at a local indigenous home in the Paramos where residents share details about their way of life and cultural practices. From there, the drive continues to Tigua, a small town known for its naive paintings created by local artists. The main stop is Quilotoa volcano, where you can choose between descending the steep trail to the crater lake or walking the rim path for views across the highlands. Kayaking on the lagoon is available if that interests you. Lunch happens here with views of traditional villages and mountain landscapes surrounding you.

- Day 2
Baños
After breakfast, you head out to see two major waterfalls near Baños: Agoyan Pailón del Diablo and Manto de la Novia. A cable car option gets you down close to the water if you prefer that over hiking. Next, you'll visit Casa del Árbol, a tree house perched on a mountainside with views across Baños and, when the weather cooperates, Tungurahua Volcano showing on the horizon. The area has several spas dedicated to the Virgin if you want to check those out. Manto de la Novia sits about 12 km from Baños and holds the distinction of being the only waterfall in the country located within an urban area, so it's visible from most spots around the city.
