As we expected from you! The program was all clear on detail on Day 11 regarding your major concern (return to Bogota from santa marta). We explained several times about it even before the starting of the trip, but kept insisting and try claiming several not included services (free late check out on las day and entrance fees) As we mentioned after this misunderstanding situation, we gave you entrance fees in order to make you feel more comfortable and be clear that it was our curtesy. From our end we made all efforts to provide the best experience to our clients as you noticed in the entire trip (all of our guides mentioned that you enjoy the trip a lot) We clearly understand how important is to make guest happy and we took this particular case special to make us re-check all programs again in order to be more clear about some tour information. Safe travels

    Asked on March 17th, 2026

At the end of the tour (last day) what is the flight from Santa Marta to Bogota you would be booking us? What's the departure time and arrival time in Bogota. Want to make sure if we can take a connecting flight to Tampa on the same day?

    Flights / Transfers
    • GUIDEcuador TravelOperatorWritten March 2026

We normally book a morning flight arriving in Bogota by 2:00 pm , but if you need earlier there is a flight that arrives by 10 am in Bogota (just let us know which one is convenient for you )

    • GUIDEcuador TravelOperatorWritten March 2026

In case of Tampa flight we saw departs from Bogota by 9:00 am so you wont be able to take this flight same day . In this case we can do something else as follows:

Day 10 Tour to Tayorna national park - drop of at Santa Marta Ariport for your flight back to Bogota by 9 pm ( we give you a hotel next to the airport )
The extra is a transfer in on Day 10 in Bogota and transfer out Day 11 to Bogota´s airport for your fly home.

We have done this way several times and works perfectly since Tayrona tour is a private tour so we can manage the excursion and the transfer on time

    • B

      Bill

      TravelerWritten March 2026

I just checked the flights to Tampa and I can see a flight from Santa Marta leavaving at 6AM that we could take to Tampa via Bogota. If we book that flight for us to return, can you give us credit for the Santa Marta to Bogota sector that otherwise you have to book. If so what would be that credit.

    • GUIDEcuador TravelOperatorWritten March 2026

we can give you a credit of usd 60 per person , if you book your own flight from Santa Marta (we will still provide you a transfer our to SMT Airport.

If you are flying home by avianca better you try booking from Santa Marta to make it easy.

We're considering this grand tour of Colombia. We're wondering whether the tours will be operating during Christmas Eve/day and New Year's Eve/day, how the tour would be different on those 4 days, and which dates would be best to depart. Is it possible to trade the internal flight back to Bogota for a domestic flight to Cartagena?

This program can be offered by Dec 22 at the latest to start due to high season. There is a surcharge of USD 150 per person for this departure. The program ends at Santa Marta Airport, from where you can fly anywhere on your own. No flight to Bogota is included. You can return to Cartagena on your own by public transport or private transfer, as there is no direct flight from Santa Marta to Cartagena.
