  Ancient Sri Lankan history was the biggest reason for choosing this itinerary, and the trip delivered plenty of it. Anuradhapura was fascinating, with enormous ruins and a peaceful atmosphere that made exploring enjoyable. Dambulla Cave Temple was completely different and full of impressive religious artwork. The visit to the Spice Garden in Matale added an interesting local touch before reaching Kandy. Sigiriya was probably the most spectacular sight of the journey, while Nuwara Eliya provided a welcome change of scenery. Lanka Safe Tours managed the practical side well, allowing more time to concentrate on the places and experiences. Having a private driver made moving between all these locations simple. The accommodation was comfortable, and breakfast each morning was convenient before heading out. Minneriya was a highlight for the wildlife, especially the elephant sightings, while the journey toward Nuwara Eliya offered beautiful green hills and mountain views.   One of the nicest surprises was how varied the itinerary turned out to be. The ancient ruins at Anuradhapura gave the trip a historical beginning, followed by the excitement of the Minneriya wildlife safari. Dambulla Cave Temple was peaceful and fascinating, while Kandy offered a completely different cultural experience. The scenery around Nuwara Eliya was probably my favorite part visually, with green hills and a much cooler atmosphere. Traveling with a private driver was definitely more relaxing than trying to manage public transportation between all these places. The vehicle was comfortable, and the driver was attentive throughout the journey. Meals and accommodation were also conveniently included. The ancient atmosphere of Anuradhapura, the elephants at Minneriya, the dramatic rock fortress at Sigiriya and the temples around Kandy all offered completely different experiences. Dambulla was another interesting stop, with beautiful cave paintings and statues. The drive toward Nuwara Eliya was probably the most scenic part of the journey, with green hills and winding roads. Private transportation made a big difference because there was flexibility over when to stop and how long to spend at certain places. The driver was professional and pleasant company during the road trips. Meals and accommodation were also taken care of, which removed much of the usual travel planning. The mountain scenery was beautiful, and the cooler weather made the stop feel completely different from the earlier parts of the journey. Before reaching the highlands, there were plenty of highlights including Sigiriya, Dambulla and Minneriya. The safari was especially enjoyable and gave a nice break from temple and historical sightseeing. Having a dedicated driver throughout the trip made everything considerably more comfortable. Long journeys were much easier when someone else handled the roads and navigation. The accommodation was convenient and having breakfast included was useful on busy sightseeing days. I was particularly pleased with how Lanka Safe Tours managed the transportation and daily schedule, making a fairly ambitious five-day itinerary feel manageable.Show more

Walking around the ancient sites in Anuradhapura was fascinating, and Dambulla Cave Temple had an entirely different atmosphere. The Minneriya safari was another major highlight, particularly for anyone interested in wildlife. Kandy brought a strong cultural element before the route continued into the beautiful highlands around Nuwara Eliya. I liked having a private driver because the schedule could move at a comfortable pace instead of following a large group. The vehicle was suitable for the longer drives and the driver knew the routes well. Visiting the Spice Garden and Sri Muthumariamman Temple added interesting local experiences that we would not have discovered on our own. The mountain scenery around Nuwara Eliya was another favorite, particularly the lush landscapes and Ramboda Falls. Kandy brought a wonderful cultural finish with the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, and Pinnawala was an enjoyable final stop.   We really enjoyed how this itinerary combined Sri Lanka’s history, wildlife, and culture into five manageable days. Anuradhapura was fascinating, with ancient structures and peaceful surroundings that made exploring very special. The Minneriya jeep safari added plenty of excitement, and seeing elephants was one of the moments we will remember most. Sigiriya Lion Rock was another unforgettable experience, especially once we reached the higher viewpoints. We also loved visiting Dambulla Cave Temple and learning about spices at the garden in Matale. Kandy gave us another opportunity to appreciate Sri Lankan traditions and local life.
