Would it be possible to arrange to do the Nam Xay Viewpoint hike while in Vang Vieng?

Please be advised that, in the program, Nam Xay Viewpoint hike is not included. We recommend catching the sunset at Nam Xay Viewpoint. You should start hiking up at 4 pm so you can slowly enjoy the beauty of golden hour and start going down right after the sunset so to ensure you don't hike in the dark, which is dangerous since the path is steep and wet. It is NOT RECOMMENDED to go when it rains for obvious reasons. Also, if you decided to catch the sunrise, be prepared to travel in the dark from the city centre to the foot of the viewpoint and of course hiking up with a torchlight. If you need a guided tour to this place, we will revise the surcharge.

For this tour, you will visit Pak Ou Cave (Temples Caves) and Kuangsi Waterfall on Day 5. First we visit the morning Phousi Market, then local villages of Lao ethnic minority groups. Later you will cruise upstream on the Mekong River, visit Pak Ou Caves with thousands of Buddha statues, and stop at Ban Xanghai village to see local rice wine production.

The scenery between Vientiane and Luang Prabang was breathtaking – winding mountain roads, local villages, and lush landscapes. We particularly enjoyed Vang Vieng, where we had time to relax by the river, and in Luang Prabang, we joined the morning alms-giving, which was very moving. This 6-day tour took us from the capital to the mountains, and every stop had its own charm. Vientiane was calm and uncrowded, and it gave us time to adjust and learn about Laos’ history. Vang Vieng was gorgeous—caves, rivers, and rice fields everywhere. We biked through the countryside, and it felt like time had slowed down. The best part, though, was Luang Prabang. Vang Vieng was a highlight with its stunning limestone karsts and the peaceful Nam Song River. The drive from Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang was breathtaking—lush mountains and scenic viewpoints all the way. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, sharing so much about Lao culture and history. Luang Prabang itself was magical, with its golden temples, night market, and the serene morning almsgiving ceremony. The journey from Vientiane to Luang Prabang was full of stunning landscapes, especially around Vang Vieng with its towering limestone karsts and serene rivers. After some exchanged emailed with sales team, I was confident to book tour with Vietlong team for 6 days in Laos. Guide and driver picked me up at the airport and asked me about my preferences. We spent incredible days seeing almost famous sites in Luang Prabang & Vientiane, time for taking photos, and talking about life in Laos.
