Itinerary
- Day 1
Mexico City to Cholula to Puebla
You'll arrive in Mexico City and meet your group at 9 am, then head to Cholula near Puebla City. Once there, walk through the Great Pyramid with its church sitting right on top, then explore the archaeological zone and wander the historic center. After that, stop by a local cider museum and browse the municipal market to get a feel for the area. From Cholula, continue on to Puebla where you'll visit a monastery connected to mole poblano's history and learn about talavera pottery traditions. After settling in, there's an optional group dinner if you're interested in joining.

- Day 2
Puebla to Atlixco
Start your morning with breakfast, then walk through Puebla's colorful streets and check out its famous food market to learn what locals eat and cook with. Head south to a family mezcal palenque that's been operating for over 70 years, where you can walk the agave fields and understand how mezcal differs from tequila, plus taste different varieties. Next, travel to Atlixco, a town near Popocatépetl volcano, and tour a local artisanal brewery to sample their beers. As the afternoon wraps up, you'll head to a hill to catch the sunset with views of the volcano in the background. Later, after checking in, join an orientation walk through Atlixco's historic center, and dinner is optional if you want to continue exploring the food scene.

- Day 3
Atlixco to Mexico City
Begin with a breakfast food experience at the local market, then visit a few artisanal ice cream shops known in the area. Head north to a local farm to see how pulque is made, an ancient fermented agave drink that's been around for centuries. Work alongside a tlachiquero to extract agave sap, and you have the option to try it fresh if you'd like. After that, sit down for a traditional lunch that features chinicuil larvae (maguey worm) specialties paired with fresh pulque and pulque bread for dessert. From there, travel back to Mexico City, arriving around 5 pm.
