Arusha to Mandara Hut

Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

- Guided hike through alpine desert from Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut (6 hours, approximately 15 kilometers)
Optional Activities
- Choice of upper route (via Mawenzi Hut trail) or lower route (shorter by approximately 1 hour) to Kibo Hut
- Purchase of mineral water and soft drinks at camp office
- Day 5
Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut
- Meals
- Breakfast (Tea and biscuits around 23:30), Lunch (Hot lunch at Kibo Hut), Dinner

- Guided summit attempt from Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak (approximately 8 hours, approximately 6 kilometers ascent)
- Visit to Hans Meyer Cave (5150m)
- Reach Gillman's Point (5681m) on crater rim
- Summit of Uhuru Peak (5895m) - Mount Kilimanjaro
- Guided descent from Uhuru Peak to Kibo Hut to Horombo Hut (approximately 9 hours total, approximately 21 kilometers descent)
