I read in one of the reviews that everyone needs to ride in a row. Is this true or is it possible to go at our own pace?

Most of our guests come from abroad and are not used to bike in the busy traffic in the Netherlands. So it is a (strong) advice to stay in a group, it is not an obligation. We can give you a map and itinerary if you want to bike self-guided. Most bikers ride e-bikes nowadays with a speed of 25 Km/h and the so called fat-bikes are very often even much faster. Ordinary hybrid bikes do an average of 15 Km/h, that's a big difference.

Is there any facility to handle personal laundry during the tour?

Yes, we offer daily care and cleaning of your personal laundry, so you can travel light and still have fresh clothes throughout the tour.

Does the tour price cover entry fees to all attractions?

While the tour price includes several amenities and fees, please note that some destination entry fees and personal gratuities are not covered.

Are there any cultural or heritage sites included in the tour itinerary?

Yes, the tour includes visits to several cultural and heritage sites, offering a rich mix of history and local culture.

What is the extent of flat terrain during the tour, concerning the biking routes?

Biking routes on this tour are mostly flat, making it suitable for people with varied cycling skills and providing an easy and enjoyable experience.

Where are we sleeping? What type of 'roads' are we riding on? (hoping for dedicated bike trails). How big is the group?

You will be sleeping on the barge. Cabins are not very big, but comfy. The dining room is even more cozy. The group is maximum 14 pax, but mostly 12 (there are two bunk bed cabins, very often used by single travelers). The roads are very often dedicated bike roads, if not, they are quiet with very few cars.

Can I opt-out of biking if the weather is bad, or if I simply wish to stay aboard?

Certainly, if you prefer to stay aboard during bad weather or just need a rest day, that is absolutely fine. The spring weather may indeed be a mix of rain and sunshine.

Is the cost of a bike included and if not, what is the cost? Are these guaranteed to go or is there a chance of cancellation, if I purchase the ticket? When is best month to see the tulips?

The departure of April 7 is already fully booked. I will change the quote to April 15, which is a sure departure and the right time of the bulb season to see them all blossoming.

The only reason my review is not excellent is the horrible room I was assigned to, and the behaviour of the owner. The cook was excellent, as was the guide, the eBikes and the first mate. But the owner and the room he assigned me was extremely uncomfortable. Imagine being in a bunk room where you can never sit with both feet on the floor, where going to the bathroom was a 2 foot climb, and where your suitcase is located on the top bunk becuase the floor space is so small. And where the owner Markus never says hello or acknowledges you at any time. If you are a solo traveller do not travel with the Finiks, but for couples it seemed to be OK.Show more

Hi Tamara, I am very sorry to hear this, but some things need some more explanation. When biking in a group it is a safety precaution to ride in a line, or row as you say. It is our policy to ride this way, whether the guide is 70 or 20 yrs old. If you don't want to bike in a group, we would happily have provided the daily itinerary and maps, to bike the way you prefer. It is just that most of our clients do not feel very safe to find their own way. The cork fee is a common policy. We provide good wines at reasonable prices, which is part of our business. I take your comment about the food very serious. We are always proud to serve the best food so your comment is an advice we take very seriously!
