Lima
Your private guide meets you at Lima's airport and gets you checked in at your hotel. After that, the rest of the day is open for you to wander around and check out the city's food scene on your own.

Lima
This morning you'll take a walking tour through Lima like a local guide would show it. Start at Miraflores market to see Peruvian produce, then ride the Metropolitano bus into the historic center. Along the way you'll try local pastries and chocolate, visit the ChocoMuseum, and have Chicha Morada at Cordano Bar.

Lima to Arequipa
You'll fly from Lima to Arequipa and head to your hotel. From there, the afternoon and evening are yours to explore. El Misti Volcano sits in the distance overlooking this Andean city, and you'll get your first good look at it from around town.

- Day 4
Arequipa
Take a self-guided walking tour through Arequipa using a map and route from a local guide. Begin at San Camilo Market and work your way up toward Santa Catalina Monastery. You control the pace and can spend as much time as you want at each spot along the way.

Arequipa to Colca Canyon
Early morning you'll drive toward Colca Canyon through mountain scenery. Stop in the Andean village of Pata Wasi for coca tea, then continue climbing to 14,760 feet where wild vicunas, llamas, guanacos, and mountain birds roam around. Later you'll descend to Chivay and reach your boutique lodge in the canyon.

- Day 6
Colca Canyon
Start before sunrise at Cruz del Condor lookout to watch light break over the canyon, which runs twice as deep as the Grand Canyon. From there you can spot Andean condors gliding on air currents. After returning to Chivay, you'll stop at traditional towns like Pinchollo, Maca, and Yanque. The rest of your day is free for walks around town or soaking in natural hot springs.

Colca Canyon to Puno
You'll travel across highland plains heading toward Puno and Lake Titicaca, taking in Peru's varied landscape as you go. By evening you'll arrive and have the rest of the night to yourself to rest up and prepare for what's next.

Amantani Island
Early morning you'll board a motor boat to Amantani Island, stopping first at the floating Uros islands. Once you arrive, you'll have lunch with an indigenous family you're staying with and then hike about 2 hours up to an island peak to see pre-Inca temples. Later you'll watch the sun set over the lake and join a native dinner and party with your host family.

- Day 9
Amantani Island to Taquile Island to Puno
After saying goodbye to your host family, you'll boat over to Taquile Island where life moves differently. A one-hour hike brings you to the main square, and from there you can explore and check out handicraft cooperatives. Lunch happens at a local restaurant before you head back, descending 500 steps and arriving in Puno around 4 pm.

Puno to Cusco
You'll take a tourist bus from Puno to Cusco, a 10.5-hour drive with stops along the way. Visit Pukara's pre-Hispanic pyramids and its litic Museum, pass through La Raya at 4,335 meters (the highest point), and see Raqchi's archaeological complex with its 49-foot temple walls. Before reaching Cusco, there's a stop at the charming 16th-century village of Andahuaylillas.

Cusco
You have the whole day free to explore Cusco at your own pace. Walk through the city center and see how Inca walls and Spanish colonial architecture sit side by side. If you want more structure, optional activities include a guided city tour, exploring nearby ruins, or heading out to the Sacred Valley.

- Day 12
Cusco
Your 4-day Inca Jungle Trek starts at 6 AM with breakfast at the lodge. A private van takes you 3 hours to Malaga Pass at 4,316 meters, then you'll descend on a mountain bike for 3 hours and 50 kilometers downhill to Huamanmarca. From there, a 30-minute bus ride gets you to Santa Maria for lunch and your first night in a basic hostel. Rafting on the Urubamba River is optional.

Santa Maria to Santa Teresa
Your first trekking day begins at 6 AM with stops to learn about local plants and animals and taste regional tropical fruit. You'll cross a historic section of the old Inca Trail that once connected Machu Picchu to Vilcabamba. During the day you'll see Huancarccasa Canyon and rest in hammocks at Quellomayo for lunch. Later you'll reach the thermal baths of Cocalmayo where you can soak, then finish at Santa Teresa for your second night.

Santa Teresa to Aguas Calientes
Day three starts around 7 AM with 3 hours of hiking through Aobamba Valley to reach the Intihuatana sector and a government control post. You'll continue trekking with lunch provided along the way, passing a series of waterfalls with mountains surrounding both Machu Picchu and Haynapicchu in view. By day's end you'll reach Aguas Calientes near the train tracks.

Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu
Rise at 4:30 AM to hike or take a bus up to Machu Picchu for sunrise. A 2-hour guided tour covers the ruins and important temples, then you have the afternoon to walk around freely. If you pre-booked a spot, you can hike Huaynapicchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. Later you'll head back to Aguas Calientes by stairs or bus and catch the train toward Ollantaytambo or Cusco.

Cusco
After the trek, take it easy and rest in Cusco. You can relax and recover, or if you want to do more, there are optional walking tours of the city and nearby ruins or trips out to the Sacred Valley. You've earned some downtime.

Cusco to Lima
You'll transfer to the airport and fly back to Lima. Once you arrive, another transfer takes you to your hotel in Miraflores. From there, spend the rest of the day relaxing, wandering around Lima a bit more if you'd like, and picking up final souvenirs before heading home.

Lima
