Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Cape Town

Start your day heading into Cape Town with a professional guide who'll take you through the main attractions. You'll begin in the Bo-Kaap neighborhood with its colorful houses and local character, then move on to Castle of Good Hope, which gives you a sense of the city's colonial past. From there, you've got options for Table Mountain, either taking the cable car up or catching the views from Table View if weather permits. Along the way, you'll pass through Green Market Square where local vendors set up, stop at the South African Museum, and see Company Gardens. Everything happens from a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle, so you're not walking the whole time in the heat (temperatures typically reach 75°F/24°C during summer months).

    Start point
Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa (CAPE TOWN, PRIVATE TOUR CAPE PENINSULA FULL DAY)

    Included Activities

    • Guided tour of Cape Town city center
    • Visit Bo-Kaap neighborhood
    • Stop at Castle of Good Hope

  2. Day 2

    Table Mountain Cable Tour

This one focuses entirely on Table Mountain, so you've got options depending on your fitness level and preferences. Take the rotating cable car up to the top for views across Cape Town and the surrounding coast, or go for a guided hike if you want the physical challenge. If you hike, the cable car brings you down so you're not stuck doing the descent. The Cape Town City Pass includes cable car access, and skip-the-line tickets are available if you're short on time.

    Included Activities

    • Table Mountain cable car ride
    • Mountain top exploration

    Optional Activities

    • Guided hike up Table Mountain
    • Trail network exploration at mountain top
    • Private tour with skip-the-line access

  3. Day 3

    Robben Island Tour

Hotel transportation picks you up and brings you to the ferry terminal for the trip to Robben Island. Once there, you'll see the Nelson Mandela Gateway and tour the historical buildings and museums scattered across the island. The setting itself carries weight given the island's history, and you get good views back toward Cape Town from the water.

    Included Activities

    • Round-trip hotel transportation
    • Ferry to Robben Island
    • Nelson Mandela Gateway visit
    • Historical buildings exploration
    Landmarks
    Robben Island

  4. Day 4

    Aquila Safari

You'll head out early to Aquila Game Reserve, which sits just outside Cape Town, making it an easy drive from the city. The reserve lets you get close to African wildlife without the malaria concerns that come with other safari locations further north. You'll spend your day looking for the animals the continent is known for, and since it's a one-day experience, you're back before evening without the travel fatigue of a longer safari trip. This setup works well if you want something beyond typical city sightseeing but don't have multiple days to commit.

Cape Point gets a stop to see the 238m lighthouse standing above the landscape. Later, you'll head to Boulders Beach in Simon's Town to see the Jackass penguin colony, and swing by Cape of Good Hope to check out the monuments to Vasco da Gama and Bartolomeu Dias. The route also includes Hout Bay, Noordhoek, Muizenberg, and Constantia, finishing with time at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
