As standard Orion it is not included in both accommodation options, so whichever hotel category you choose, the desert/yurt or hotel in Khiva Day 6 will remain part of the itinerary. Is it possible to arrive a day before the tour starts and can we be met at the airport?

Yes it is absolutely possible to arrive a day earlier than the official tour start, and we can very happily arrange a private airport meet-and-greet for your group of 6. We can meet you at Tashkent International Airport, with a driver/guide holding a sign and escorting you to your hotel. We can arrange one night pre-tour accommodation in Tashkent, with prices of $90 for double room and $85 for single room per night.

Is there a tour on spring that the departure is already guaranteed..minimum of 2 people ?

The tour is a step into a magical world. It’s a very well organised tour with excellent guides. I had different ones for each city and they were all fantastic. All of them had so much information to share and I loved the inside into their lives. Each city has their own character. Samarkand has magnificent sights in different parts of the city. The hotel roof terrace overlooks Registan Square. Bukhara has a compact old city complete with trading domes. A marvel. In Khiva you stay inside the old town and soak up the atmosphere. Everywhere felt safe to walk around. Uzbeks are so friendly and delighted to see tourists. They make the world feel like a nicer place. I loved the food. The national is Plov which is delicious comfort food. It’s worth trying all the classic dishes. A shout out to the fried egg plant salad. €12 buys a fantastic meal. Visit Uzbekistan I cannot recommend it highly enough.Show more

We had an amazing time on this tour from Tashkent to Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Ayazkala. Odil replied to us very quickly and we felt reassured that everything was in hand and well organised, and he also helped us organise an addition to our tour including going to the mountains afterwards for some R&R in Chimgan and Amirsoy. On the ground we had the pleasure of meeting the local team including Bek and Muhammad who looked after us really well and helped us with transfers and were always on-hand via WhatsApp with any questions we had. The trip worked well as a partially guided tour with a good mix of our own time as well as lots of information and incredible sightseeing with local guides who were experts in their area including Sordor, Zara and Shahnoz; shout out to Muna especially who was absolutely amazing and took us to play Russian billiards which we loved! This was a great tour and the team seemed quite flexible in terms of what we wanted to do so I would definitely recommend them if you're thinking of travelling around Uzbekistan. We had a stunning view or the Registan from our hotel in Samarkand, and the Khiva hotel was a converted madrassa. Bek went out of his way to accommodate everybody's need. There were a few initial hiccups with the organisation of the tour which were ironed out before our tour started. The tour itself was very well organised for just the two of us. The transportation between the cities of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva were by road , rail and air. We were sent to the railway stations and airport with pre booked tickets and picked up promptly at the other end to be sent to the hotel. There was good and prompt communication with the tour operator at any and all times. The accommodations were all in excellent locations either close to the Old Towns or restaurants or market, and were clean and comfortable. The guides were knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating and did a good job showing us around the places of interest. Every effort was made to ensure our comfort and convenience and we really appreciated that. All in all, we had a great holiday. We enjoyed the people we met, the places we visited, the food and the relaxed pace of the tour. I really recommend Steppe Journeys for a great trip in Uzbekistan!Show more

I started planning a trip to Uzbekistan back in July 2024 for summer of 2025. I reached out to Odil at Steppe Journeys asking for information on tours/drivers since I wasn't sure if they would work with a solo traveler. He was always prompt and detailed in his communication. I worked with Odil on solidifying the trip earlier in the year. He provided good guidance on timeframes for travel as well as sights to see. The best part of the experience was the knowledgeable tour guides and drivers. The tour guides all seemed like academics. Their knowledge on their respective cities is vast. They were kind and provided excellent recommendations. My driver for most of the trip was a wonderful person. We communicated as best as we could with the little English he knew. He always made sure I was comfortable. I will never forget his kindness. My driver in Tashkent, Bek (Khostorbek) went above and beyond. He also spoke excellent English. Unfortunately, my luggage was delayed. He took me back to the airport at 2:00 in the morning to retrieve my baggage. He was very accommodating and service-focused. Anything I asked was no problem for him. He is also very knowledgable on Tashkent. The accommodations were excellent. I even stayed in a madrassa in Khiva. Uzbekistan is a beautiful country with an amazing culture. I hope more and more tourists visit this special place. I am hoping to go back one day.   May I please double check the dates and availibility for each tour? I'm leaning towards the boutique hotel option as you've mentioned that the yurt stay can take place on both options, however it seems one tour leaves on 31st March whereas the other leaves on 1st April. Is this correct or can both tours take place on either date and it's just the hotels that change? Also one tour says partially guided vs the other which says fully guided?

The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 70 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
