Amazing “Bucket List” Adventure We worked with Realistic Asia to plan our amazing 25-day vacation in Southeast Asia. Our good friend Long Pham was our personal agent, and we felt his care on every aspect of our trip. The program Long provided was filled with wonderful full and half day experiences, for us to see the very best that each location offered. We were especially impressed with Long’s ability to modify our trip to include SaPa Vietnam, when our trip was interrupted with Typhoon Tino. Before we knew the potential impact to our trip, Long re-routed us to northern Vietnam, and it was as though it was part of the plan all along. The tour guides in each location were knowledgeable, professional and accommodating. Many of the tours were completely private; while others had 2-6 other people joining us. If you are considering a vacation like ours, we highly recommend Long Pham and Realistic Asia. They will handle every element of the trip including all airline connections; hotel reservations; tours and transfers to and from the airport. It’s all handled with one contact point. We appreciate you Long, and thank you for making our vacation a huge success!

Really well put together tour. I had no issues with any transfers, accomodation or trips. The transfers & accomodation were all comfortable & clean ( though Royal Crown in Siem Reap was definitely my favourite). The tours were all interesting & on the main with excellent guides ( again my guide in Siem Reap was just beyond amazing with his knowledge of all the temples & history). The help I got from Edna from Realistic Asia was beyond 5 stars. Helped to change the itinerary, due to the flooding, last minute. Came back to all my questions promptly. As a solo traveller I felt totally supported.

Itinerary was as published. Tour guides were very attentive, knowledgeable in all three countries, although guides in Cambodia and Vietnam were not as proficient in English as the guide in Thailand. Nevertheless, all three guides were excellent. The only issue is the fact that Realistic Asia must rely on third parties in each country to execute the itinerary and not all of the third parties were good communicators, again probably a function of language proficiency. Otherwise, great trip!

*Took the 18 day tour of Vietnam, Thailand, and Cambodia with Realistic Asia. The trip went off with a hitch, all the transportation to and from four airports was great. The tour guides were very good, but Mr. Thang from Realistic Asia was the whole reason this trip went off without a hitch. Mr. Thang helped navigate through the visa process for each country and once we landed he was in constant contact to ensure everything was done to our satisfaction. Mr. Thang answered questions quickly and was able to ensure we could enjoy our trip.* *A BIG thanks to Mr. Thang and Realistic Asia for a well organized tour.*

    Asked on September 23rd, 2025

Would it be possible to select a twin room instead of a whole room for a solo traveler?

    Accommodation
    • Realistic AsiaOperatorWritten September 2025

During the Glimpse Of Indochina In 18 Days tour, you will join the group tours in Vietnam (group size maybe 12-16 people). The group tour is NOT that you share with the same group from the beginning till the end. Most of our tours are partial group tours in which you will have different groups for excursion at each place, but airport pick up/drop off and accommodation are private, just join a group on days you have a tour. The tours in Cambodia and Thailand are completely private.

Is it possible to hold or reserve the room temporarily, to see if there will be another solo traveler who would like to share the room?

    • Realistic AsiaOperatorWritten September 2025

For a Twin room, the hotels don't agree to hold a room for us because of the peak season. So if you would like to do this tour, you can consider doing it as a solo traveler. I mean you will stay in a private room, not sharing with others.

    • Realistic AsiaOperatorWritten August 2025

Our Vietnam group tour is only available with English speaking guide. If you want to have a Spanish-speaking guide, we have to make it all private tours, which will make the cost quite much higher honestly.

I am looking for a small group with the same people. Is this possible?

    • Realistic AsiaOperatorWritten July 2025

Currently, we do not support tours that have groups that can join you from the beginning to the end of the trip. Each customer will have a different convenient schedule such as their duration, their travel date, or the different international flights. Therefore, it will be difficult to find someone with the same dates, the same interests as you as well as willing to share the room with you. In this package, you will join the different group tours in Vietnam and the tours in Thailand and Cambodia are private.

Are there any alternative options for people who cannot ride a bike?

    • Realistic AsiaOperatorWritten July 2025

On Day 10 (Mekong tour) and Day 15 (Hoa Lu - Tam Coc - Mua Cave tour), cycling is only one of many activities of those tours, you can walk or take a rest to enjoy the sightseeing, not compulsory to join the cycling activity.

    Asked on May 4th, 2025

Can you tell me what the 619$ local payment are for? Is there a guides tour of Bangkok and the Grand Palace (Wat Phra Chetuphon) included? Is a visit of the Mae Klong Railway Market included in the itinerary? We would be interested in visiting a elephant sanctuary. Would there be an opportunity on this trip?

    • Realistic AsiaOperatorWritten May 2025

The Local Payment of $700 per person covers airfare during the trip, the English-speaking guide fee, and some other local fees. You can make local payment on arrival by cash (new US$ bills), or link payment for a credit card. You will have a private tour guide in Bangkok Thailand when you have Half-Day Floating Marketing tour and a Full-day Ayutthaya. This package doesn't have Bangkok temple tour. You can visit a temple tour that costs US $127/person. Mae Klong Railway Market is not included in this package. You can visit an elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai, but you would need to expand the trip by 2 more days.

    • D

      Diana

      TravelerWritten May 2025

Is Chiang Mai the only elephant sanctuary that can be visited? We realized that an 18 day trip is too long since we want to add a couple of days at a beach resort. We would most likely have to limit the tour to 12 to 14 days. We would be considering 4* hotels.

    • Realistic AsiaOperatorWritten May 2025

You can visit an Elephant Sanctuary in Pattaya from Bangkok, without needing to travel to Chiang Mai. You would just need to expand one more day in Bangkok. We recommend booking soon as December is peak tourism season and services get fully booked quickly.
