What time do you have to be there on day 1, and what time does the tour end on day 4?

We recommend arriving to the area the day before the tour starts and leaving the day after the tour ends to account for any unpredictable travel delays. The first day of the tour will start at 12:00PM Approximately.

I'm looking up flights for the tour package 12/26-12/29. I need to know around what time will the tour be finished on 12/29 so I know what day to put on my return flight home. Is it going to be where I need to get there a day before and leave a day after?

You will need to arrive the day before the tour begins, on 25DEC and leave the day after the tour, on 30DEC. You will need to book your own hotel rooms, in Jackson Hole, for the day before the tour and the day after the tour. You will be back in Jackson Hole between 4:30pm-6:30pm, all depending on the road conditions and traffic.

What happens if the weather is not good during the scheduled dates?

If we feel the weather is bad enough that it is unsafe to travel, we have three options. If we at BrushBuck end up cancelling due to weather, we will refund, reschedule or given a credit to use in the future. We highly recommend acquiring travel insurance to provide that protection if anything unforeseen should happen during your travels!

Is the price per person, or is it split amongst the group?

The price you see is per person, however you will see that we have a different price for guests who are booking for two or more people and guests who are traveling alone. We do currently still have availability on that date!

Is it possible to fly into Jackson that time of year? If not, and we fly into Bozeman, is driving down to Jackson feasible? Do we rent a car?

Yes, there are flights into Jackson all year. We do not supply any winter clothing, so you would be responsible for having your own. Our vehicles are enclosed with heating and air conditioning, but you are in and out of the van frequently so you would need a winter coat, closed toed shoes with good tread, and possibly gloves, hat and scarves.

I'm interested in doing this over the winter holidays with my two children. However we need to be back in Florida by that Friday. May I get an itinerary of that final day with the estimated end time as I would need to book flights for a prompt return to Florida. Ultimately whether we can take trip or not is going to hinge on whether we can make our flight out Thursday evening.

On our final day of this tour, we will be returning to Jackson, WY between 3 and 6 p.m. However, please understand that we may experience delays that are out of our control i.e. adverse weather conditions. Please note that we do not provide exact itineraries for our tours as our days are spent searching for wildlife and we visit landmark sights between those wildlife sightings. There is a *wonderful* chance that you will be back in time to catch a flight out of Jackson, WY on Thursday but please be aware that we can't guarantee an exact return time.

Ronnie and I loved the tour. Our guide Rachel, was extremely professional in her work. Full of knowledge about different animals as well as some history lessons. It took me a while, but they are called bison , not buffalo. ? But what really blew my mind, was her keen eye on the landscape as she was driving. She could spot animals very well, and gave us many opportunities to take photos and look through the high powered scope. Rachel is surely a people person, jumping right in there to become friends with strangers, laughing and carrying on with us. Even when we were all getting excited about stopping to see the two grizzly bears mating, questions being tossed at her. She was calm and gave answers and instructions like a mother with her children. ?? Not that we’d tell our young kids what was going on. They were the hugging bears. ?? It pays to ask someone on the road what they are looking at, and that video Rachel captured is priceless. Guys, pay attention! ? She was a very safe driver as we encountered many elements of weather. She also sent us pictures and videos from her scope of the many, many, animals we saw. I would highly recommend this tour, it’s worth every penny. The hotels were awesome and cute, especially in Cooke City Montana. It was as if we were going back to the early days. The restaurants were good and Rachel even recommended good eats. Simply said Extraordinary, Our family of four enjoyed our guide Andrew was the best part of the trip. Of course he had a close runner up being in Yellowstone competing with abundant wildlife sightings. Teaching the group about the multitude of geological activity and surrounding areas he was knowledge with, we loved this trip. Brush Buck also handled the booking of Hotels and some restaurants while on the trip for the ten people on the bus. Everyone on the trip loved this aspect as well.   What will be the range of elevation that we should expect to be exposed to? I live in a city with elevation of 222', so I am a little worried about possible altitude sickness.

  For Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, you will be in 7,000-8,000 altitude. This is definitely a significant increase from where you live. We always recommend drinking plenty of water, lots and lots of water. Caffeine is not good at all for preventing altitude sickness. Also, there are oxygen cans that you can buy that do help. Lots of gatorade, electrolytes. Basically, you will need to stay hydrated on a level that you have never done before. There are nausea pills and altitude sickness pills. Maybe arriving a few days earlier to get used to it will be helpful.

  The tour description says "active". For some tours that means there's lots of hiking. We can handle the cold, but are not up for snowshoeing etc. Is it just "active" because of getting in and out of the vehicle?

  This tour is really as active or inactive as you'd like it to be! Yes, getting in and out of the vehicle is all you really need to do and we will do some small, easy walking to different areas for those that would like to participate. Keeping our groups so small (10 or less guests per group) allows for all activity levels to be happy!
