  The tour is intensive and involves hours spent in the car but there were almost 2,000 kms to cover so that is to be expected. Also the roads are slow and the driving crazy but we had faith in Chandima our driver/guide who got us safely through it all. I did find his English very difficult to understand. He spoke quickly and with Sinhala intonation but he did the best he could to make our trip as enjoyable as possible. It as a surprise to receive our gifts from BH Lanka Tours for which we thank you very much. The mugs make an excellent souvenir and remind us of an marvelous holiday.Show more

  The Sri Lanka All Island Explore (14 days) was excellent and a great way to get an overview of the entire island of Sri Lanka. Our tour guide, Nima (Nimantha) was exceptional. His knowledge of the history, religion, culture, politics, geography and sights of Sri Lanka could not be faulted, and we certainly asked him a lot of questions! We had booked a group tour with BH Lanka but ended up being just the 2 of us with Nima, so a private tour! Nima was able to secure the best safari guides for our 2 wildlife adventures (a real highlight of the trip), front row seats at the cultural show and also recommended some alternatives to the itinerary which we really enjoyed. He was always on time and was able to schedule our days so we could best avoid the crowds. Also, thanks to Sanju of BH Lanka for planning our itinerary and making all the bookings and reservations, it was all very well organised. All our questions and queries were answered promptly and accurately. The tour cost was well priced and very competitive. For the most part the hotels were good, the best being the Northgate in Jaffna, Hotel Topaz in Kandy and Chaarya Resort in Yala (where we found the service and food to be above average). Also, Dickwella Resort was well located on a beautiful beach on the South Coast. Hotel Sigiriya was a little disappointing, well located with a view of the fortress but a little tired. Also, when you bought drinks you didn’t actually sign for them so you did not see the extra service and tax charges (about 33%) that were added. While we covered a lot of ground, there were some places we wished we had stayed an extra night, notably Kandy, Ella and Dickwella. Some thoughts for people interested in this type of tour: • If time permits, organise an 18 to 21 day tour. • Visit the Tamil region in the north, Jaffna and Trincomalee do not have as many tourists and are culturally very interesting places. • Bring $USD cash for entrance and activity fees. • Sri Lanka has a strong tipping culture so keep all the small denomination notes for this. We thoroughly recommend this tour and our amazing guide Nima!Show more

  It is a very good tour overall - it goes all around Sri Lanka from south to north, and east to west, especially the most northern part of the country most of the tour operators won't go to. It has a good variety of activities too - with rich historical & cultural sights, great trekking routes, safari parks, beautiful beaches and great food even for vegetarian. The main complaint is with their disclaimer saying 'no hidden charges', when in fact most of the high expenses such as fees for safari parks ($85 pp) and visiting historical temples ($30) are NOT included in their tour price, even though their itinerary clearly includes them. When we did everything which was 'suggested' on the itinerary it amounted to £350 pp more - a considerable mark-up to your traveling budget. I must admit I felt duped a bit when I found out, even though it may not have been their intension- it just had to be made bit more clearer at the booking.Show more

  This was our second visit to Sri Lanka, first time was with a group organised by a different company and this time as a private tour with BHLanka. Enjoyed both and we have no complaints with BHL, the tour was well organised, choice of hotels was good but a few were not as central as we would like but tuk tuks are cheap, the itinerary allowed us to see many facets of SL. We had reservations about doing a private tour with just the two of us but found this to be a good experience. We had a guide who was also our driver for the 14 days. Nalin Dissanayake was a teacher in geography, history, science, birds, economics and more. We couldn't ask for a more knowledgeable guide and he spoke good english. We were able to adjust the itinerary in a few places to suit our requests. Driving conditions here in SL are difficult but Nalin was very careful and we felt safe. Recommend asking for Nalin.Show more

  We felt the tour was a great way to see the island of Sri Lanka, our driver Sasika was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and a pleasure to spend two weeks with. Most of the hotels were good although the food at Miridaya Lake resort was inedible and we didn’t appreciate the outside toilet and although Thalsivana Resort was lovely and in a beautiful place the bathroom was filthy to the point we had to use a cloth to turn the taps on. We would highly recommend Sasika as a driver, he went out of his way to make sure we saw as much of the island as possible and made the whole trip an absolute pleasureShow more

  Our tour overall was good and our guide Udara was excellent. Udara expertly organised guides and entrance fees for us, without having to wait in the long queues. We had booked a group tour, but when we started the tour in Negombo it was just two of us; effectively a private tour. It was great that we could miss sites when it was too hot, and Udara was able to suggest some wonderful alternative activities such as a cooking class and a lake safari. We also highly recommend a visit to Reo Ice Creamery in Jaffna! The hotels were good in general and some were great, however the hotel in Nilaveli Beach (Trincomalee) had no wifi in the rooms and our one night at Beruwala (Bentota) was noisy at night with loud music. Meals were mainly good as well, although sometimes the food in bain maries was lukewarm at best for some of the hotels. We had a great time and would recommend BH Lanka to others.Show more

We had booked a group tour and were told that there were 3 others on the tour, but when we started the tour in Negombo it was just two of us; effectively a private tour. It would have helped to know this as we could have tailored the itinerary with more days in Kandy & Nuwara Eliya and skipping Koggala. The hotels were OK apart from the hotel in Trincomalee which was old, without WiFi in the rooms and barely 3 stars. Also the meal options in some hotels were just for Western tastes without a Sri Lankan option. It may be an idea to run this tour on a BB basis with the opportunity to eat dinner locally as the local restaurants we tried for lunch were excellent.Show more

  Sri Lanka North to South was a comprehensive tour of the island. All accommodation was good and service excellent. Our guide was excellent and being the only travellers on the tour enabled flexibility with the itinerary. We wanted to have authentic food so our guide took us to traditional eateries rather than the tourist restaurant. I would definitely recommend BH ToursShow more
