  I am giving the five star rating to our driver/guide Nalin Jayalath. His dedication to his job is outstanding. The whole time he made sure that all our needs were met, we are comfortable and have enough time to see and do everything we wanted. He also shared with us his extended knowledge of his country's history and customs. He is a calm and experienced driver what is an important skill considering the local traffic.We would highly recommend him to everybody looking for a great stress free experience in beautiful Sri Lanka.   All in all, it was a great mix of nature and culture. Our tour guide, Sakun, was fantastic – informative, charming, flexible, helpful, and organized. I had many experiences I certainly wouldn't have had without the tour. These included learning how cinnamon and curry are made, as well as seeing wild elephants and monkeys in their natural habitat. However, there were also aspects I didn't like, particularly the way animals were treated. For one, during the safari tour in Yala, a herd of elephants was practically chased and surrounded by the safari jeeps. The elephants were clearly terrified, but the safari guides didn't seem to care in the slightest. The way the elephants were kept at the rehabilitation center was also very questionable. I would strongly recommend excluding these parts of the tour.

  BOOK THE LIFETIME EXPERIENCE TOUR BY BH LANKA! You will not regret it! This is a longer review, but the short story is: my wife and I had an incredible time. I’ve broken this down into three sections: (1) the operator, (2) the itinerary, and (3) the guide. (1) The Tour Operator My wife and I looked at social media and AI tools to find a well-organized, affordable week-long tour of Sri Lanka. BH Lanka consistently showed up as highly recommended. I found them on TourRadar and immediately started asking questions to ensure our trip across the world would be safe and enjoyable. Over two weeks, I went back and forth with Mishal regarding arrival dates, accommodations, airport pickups, and packing lists. Mishal answered every question and built a flexible schedule that gave me total confidence. After booking, they helped with visa information and provided a personalized itinerary and price list for items not included (entry fees, etc.). Booking Experience: 5/5 (2) The Itinerary The tour offers a perfect "sampling" of the country. Some days are more fast-paced (like the drive from Negombo to the elephant sanctuary and Sigiriya Rock), while others are more relaxed (tea plantations and walking around Nuwara Eliya). The mixture of beach, city, countryside, and nature was exactly what we wanted. We especially appreciated the hotel selection—nice 3/4 star hotels that weren't overrun by large tour groups. This meant no crowds at the pools or during meals. Itinerary & Lodging: 4.5/5 (3) The Guide The guide is the star of the show, and Janaka was AMAZING. His breadth of knowledge about Sri Lanka and the world led to many enlightening conversations. As a veteran of the industry, he knows how to maneuver through any situation and found all the best viewpoints. Most importantly, he made us feel safe and comfortable. He tailored the experience to our interests; since we like agriculture, he went out of his way to point out specific crops and farming techniques. He truly made the trip special.

  This is an incredible opportunity to experience Sri Lanka with a mix of their amazing history and wonderful people. From touring Unesco world heritage site to seeing Jaguars and elephants on safari. You cannot go wrong with this trip. Our guide Ravi was excellent as both driver and historian. We highly recommend this trip for an amazing experience you will always treasure.

  From the moment we first met, Nishantha was professional, kind and offered a wealth of knowledge! We had such an incredible time on the 8 day tour which was our first experience of a private tour where it was just ourselves and the guide. Nishantha went above and beyond to make sure we experienced every key piece that Sri Lanka has to offer - from food experiences, to hidden gems, and seamless collaboration with locals in every town we visited! The hotels were all amazing and clean and each provided a beautiful dinner and breakfast which set us up perfectly for the big days. We even had a couple of the hotels provide a surprise birthday cake (organised by BH Lanka) for my partner’s 30th, which was such a special moment for us both! With Nishantha’s expertise, we were able to make the most out of all the optional experiences - e.g. leaving early to avoid crowds at the safari, having private access to some attractions etc. and Nishantha helped to guide us on where tipping was customary/how much as we are not from a tipping culture ourselves. As someone who is very passionate about ethical wildlife tourism, it was a relief to see that the elephant bathing had very little human contact and that the money goes to the hospital, which aims to rehab and release elephants where possible. Whilst the turtle hatchery (which was included in the tour) made an effort to save eggs from those with ill intentions, it was overall less ethical than I had hoped, with turtles in small tanks kept for years/decades without release. Based on my personal values, I would probably ask to skip this experience if I had known! Overall, I would absolutely recommend BH Lanka tours to anyone coming to experience Sri Lanka for the first time - the experiences we have had will stay with us forever and we have fallen in love with this beautiful country!   There were so many incredible sights to take in and experiences to enjoy on the Lifetime Experience In Sri Lanka tour. Some of my personal highlights were the time spent immersed in nature - especially seeing the elephants at Yala, and exploring UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Sigiriya and the Royal Cave Temple. What truly made this trip extra special was my guide, Wipula Chaminda. He was warm, kind, and wonderfully attentive, ensuring everything ran seamlessly, always with a smile. His driving and parking skills were exceptional too - anyone who’s experienced the organised chaos of Sri Lankan roads will appreciate just how impressive that is! Five stars from me :)

  My mother and I had a tour scheduled to start during the heavy flooding that hit Sri Lanka at the end of November 2025. Even before leaving, the company was very helpful and they supported us in understanding how the flooding would affect our experience. Luckily, when we arrived it stopped raining, but the consequences of the cyclone were still very clear. Our guide, Sidath, made sure that we were will taken care of. He was very knowledgeable, always available and eager to let us know his county. Despite multiple changes in the plans for to road closures, he made sure we were not missing out on anything. He was always very careful to our needs and desires - even which food we liked! During the whole experience, Sidath has been our window on the Sinhalese culture. The country, the culture and the people of Sri Lanka are amazing. BH Lanka and Sidath made sure we could enjoy them to the fullest. Isthuthi!

  As our first Sri Lanka vacation, we had booked eight days of a "unique experience of Sri Lanka". We were supposed to change hotels every day and explore a different region. Cyclone Ditwah saw things differently and we actually had a unique experience. From the second day onwards, the program changed to a mode individually adapted to the weather conditions.
