  Extremely Disappointing Experience and a Completely Misleading “Hotel Upgrade” Our experience with the three-day Ancient Greece tour was incredibly disappointing, and the way the hotel “upgrade” was represented was particularly frustrating. Even before the tour began, we were disappointed by the lack of communication and transparency. A few days prior to departure, we had to contact the company ourselves to ask whether we would be receiving tour documents and to request the names of the hotels where we would be staying. We were then told that there were no official tour documents, and it was only at that point that they provided us with the names of the hotels. We found this extremely frustrating, as basic information about the tour and accommodations should be provided to customers well in advance of departure rather than having to be requested at the last minute. We also paid extra for what was presented to us as a hotel upgrade. Based on the way this was sold, we reasonably expected to be moved to a different, higher-rated hotel with better amenities and an overall upgraded experience. That is not what happened. Instead, we were kept at the same hotel as the rest of the tour group and were given what amounted to a room upgrade. The room was not meaningfully different from the standard accommodations and certainly did not provide the type of upgraded hotel experience we were led to believe we were purchasing. What makes this even more frustrating is that there were only two of us who had paid for the upgrade. Our impression was that because there were so few people who purchased it, the company simply chose not to arrange a genuinely upgraded hotel and instead kept us at the same property as everyone else. If the “upgrade” means nothing more than putting you in a slightly different room at the exact same hotel, that should be stated clearly before customers pay additional money for it. Calling this a hotel upgrade created an expectation of a different and better property, and that expectation was not met. We feel that the upgrade was misrepresented and absolutely not worth the additional money. We would never have paid for it had we understood what we were actually receiving. This was not a minor misunderstanding or a matter of personal preference. It was the difference between paying for an upgraded hotel experience and receiving essentially the same hotel experience everyone else received. The company needs to be much more transparent about what customers are actually purchasing when they pay for an accommodation upgrade. Customers should not have to discover after arriving that the “upgrade” they paid for isn’t what they reasonably understood it to be. The lack of advance tour documentation and hotel information, combined with the misleading way the accommodation upgrade was presented, left us feeling that the entire process lacked transparency and customer consideration. We are extremely unhappy with this experience and would not purchase this upgrade again. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend paying extra for the advertised hotel upgrade.Show more

On 17th March, I booked a From Athens: Mycenae, Epidaurus & Nafplio Full-Day Tour through the GetYourGuide app. There was a taxi strike in Athens, and as a first-time traveler to Greece, I had no prior knowledge of this situation. My hotel was quite far from the meeting point. I immediately called the tour company and explained my situation. I was begging them to wait a few minutes while I tried to find a way to get there. The woman I spoke to promised me they would wait. With no taxis available, I had no choice but to walk 2 km on foot to reach the meeting point. When I finally arrived, they told me that the bus had already left without me. To make matters worse, they marked me as a “no show” and refused to give any refund, claiming it was entirely my responsibility. This is completely unacceptable, especially after they explicitly told me they would wait. This company clearly does not care about customers or basic human consideration. They only care about taking your money and offering zero support when things go wrong. Avoid this company at all costs. Do not waste your money or risk ruining your trip.Show more

As with all our tours, the meeting point and departure time were clearly communicated in advance through the booking confirmation, and guests are responsible for ensuring they arrive at the departure location on time. When we were informed of your delay, our team made every effort to assist and, as a gesture of goodwill, the coach remained at the meeting point for additional minutes beyond the scheduled departure time. Unfortunately, we were unable to extend the delay further, as doing so would have negatively impacted the experience of the many other travelers who had arrived punctually and were expecting the tour to proceed as scheduled. Our tours follow carefully planned itineraries that include timed visits, licensed guiding services, transportation schedules, and arrangements for all participants. For this reason, there are limits to how long a departure can be postponed, even when we sympathize with a guest's circumstances. While we are sorry that you were unable to join the tour, the booking was classified as a no-show in accordance with the applicable booking terms and conditions once the departure time had passed and the coach had departed. We respectfully disagree with the suggestion that our team lacks consideration for its customers. Every day, we strive to assist our guests and provide high-quality experiences, while also ensuring fairness to all travelers on the tour. In this case, we did our best to accommodate the situation while balancing our responsibility to the rest of the group. We appreciate your feedback and wish you enjoyable future travels.
