You'll arrive at Jakarta International Airport where your guide meets you for the transfer to your hotel. After checking in, the rest of your day is free to settle in and rest up from your journey.

Jakarta
Following breakfast at your hotel, you'll head out to explore Jakarta's Old Town. The Istiqlal Mosque and Jakarta Cathedral sit across from each other, both worth seeing. You'll tour the National Museum and the Monas tower, then make your way to Sunda Kelapa Harbour to walk around the historic area. Lunch happens at a local spot before you return to your hotel for a relaxed afternoon.

Jakarta to Yogyakarta
A morning flight takes you from Jakarta to Yogyakarta. Once you arrive, you'll visit the Sultan's Palace (Kraton) and ride a pedicab to the Taman Sari Water Castle. After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll check out a traditional batik workshop and the Kotagede district where local silversmiths work. In the afternoon, you'll see the ancient Prambanan temples and catch a traditional Ramayana dance performance before heading back to your hotel.

- Day 4
Yogyakarta
Starting with breakfast at your hotel, you'll spend the morning at Borobudur, the vast Buddhist temple and UNESCO site. You'll cycle through Javanese countryside to a nearby village, then visit the ninth-century Mendut and Pawon temples. Late lunch comes with views of rice paddies. Later, you'll stop at Alun-alun Kidul (Southern City Square) to try the local Masangin game. Dinner features royal Javanese cuisine at Dalem Joyokusumo before you return to your hotel.

- Day 5
Yogyakarta to Bromo
You'll head to Yogyakarta train station and board the Sancaka morning train to Mojokerto for a scenic ride into East Java. The journey includes stops at Trowulan (former capital of the Majapahit Empire) and Pasuruan harbour where you'll have lunch. From there, it's roughly four hours to Tosari village where you'll check in at about 1,700 metres elevation. Dinner is at your hotel.

- Day 6
Bromo to Kalibaru
Wake early and head out by 4x4 Jeep to Penanjakan, about 40 minutes away, for the Mount Bromo sunrise at 2,770m. After watching the sunrise, you'll descend into the volcano caldera and ride a horse for roughly 25 minutes to the active Bromo crater rim. Back at your hotel for breakfast and checkout. Then you'll travel to Kalibaru (about 1.5 hours), a quiet hillside spot with views of Mrawan Mountain and Gumitir Valley. Lunch is at a local restaurant before checking in at your hotel. The rest of your day is free, with dinner at your hotel.

Kalibaru to Ketapang
You'll visit a Kalibaru plantation in the morning to see how Indonesian commodities like coffee, cocoa, nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, vanilla, and pepper are grown and cultivated. You'll also watch coconut sugar being made. Lunch is back at your hotel. After that, you'll head east to Ketapang at Java's eastern tip. Check in at your hotel and the rest of your afternoon and evening are yours to do as you like.

Ketapang to Ubud
Rise early to catch the sunrise over the caldera in the Ijen plateau volcanic region. After roughly 1.5 hours driving through rice paddies and pine forests, you'll reach Paltuding and hike about 90 minutes to the crater edge. The jade-coloured lake and yellow sulphur springs come into view, and you'll meet the sulphur workers out there. You'll have a box breakfast before heading back to your hotel to rest. Lunch at a local restaurant happens later, then you'll take the ferry to Bali via Pemuteran and get dropped at your hotel in Ubud.

- Day 9
Ubud
Breakfast at your hotel starts your day before you head to Gunung Kawi temple at Tampak Siring, an 11th-century site carved from rock. You'll descend roughly 315 stone steps through rice terraces to reach it. From there, you'll continue to Tirta Empul temple with its holy water bathing pool that's been used for over 1,000 years. Moving on to Kintamani, you'll find panoramic views of Lake Batur and Mount Batur volcano at 1,412m. Lunch comes with those great views. Later, you'll explore the black lava slopes on a 4x4 trail that crosses eruptions from 1834 and 1964, visiting a cave in a lava flow. You'll return to Ubud by evening.

Ubud
Heading west to Tabanan Regency, you'll explore Jatiluwih, an expansive rice terrace UNESCO World Heritage Site with the subak sustainable irrigation system. A short walk through the rice paddies in the morning air gives you a feel for the area. You'll visit the water temple at Bedugul, then stop at the vibrant Candikuning local market with fresh produce and exotic flowers. Lunch overlooks rice terraces and green mountains. Next comes the Alas Kedaton monkey forest with its small temple, then you'll head to the sea temple of Tanah Lot sitting on a rock islet. You'll transfer back to Ubud after.

Ubud to Nusa Dua
Your guide will pick you up and take you to Guliang Kawan Village in central Bali. You'll get a warm welcome and have a simple Balinese breakfast with tea or coffee. A traditional local market trip helps you pick ingredients for a Balinese cooking class where you'll learn about exotic ingredients and daily cooking methods. After lunch in a hut facing rice fields, you'll join in rural farming activities like planting, transplanting, or harvesting rice depending on what season it is, and you'll learn how the subak irrigation system works. You'll visit Pengelipuran, a traditional village that preserves Balinese house architecture. Later, you'll transfer to your Nusa Dua beachside hotel, check in, and the rest of your day is free.

Nusa Dua
You'll have a relaxed morning after breakfast. In the afternoon, you'll head to Uluwatu temple, an impressive sea temple perched atop a cliff above the ocean at the peninsula's westernmost tip. You'll spend time at a cliff villa with ocean views, relax by the infinity pool with a beer while you wait for the sunset, then transfer back to your hotel.
